Jamnagar Municipal Corporation Recruitment 2026 covers 31 posts under seven advertisements, Nos. 05 to 11/2026-27, published in one combined notice. The biggest groups are 10 Staff Nurse posts, 8 Senior Clerk (Tax Inspector or Recovery Officer) posts and 5 Medical Officer posts. The online form on OJAS, Gujarat’s job application portal, runs from 28 October 2026 (1 PM) to 17 November 2026 (11:59 PM). The fee can be paid until 18 November 2026. Applying for two posts means two forms and two fees.

Where these details come from: the 14-page Gujarati detailed instructions for JMC Advt 05 to 11/2026-27 (PDF), issued by the Commissioner of the Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC). OJAS serves the same file for Advt 09, 10 and 11. Its signing date is partly handwritten and appears to read 31/08/2026. On 31 October and again on 5 November 2026, all seven JMC posts appeared on the OJAS home page with 17 November 2026 as the last date. Nothing there changed or corrected them. The PDF itself is unchanged.

Total 31

Age is counted on 17 November 2026. In the 7th Pay Commission pay matrix, each pay level is one column. Level 5 runs from Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300, Level 4 from Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100, and Level 2 from Rs 19,900 to Rs 63,200. Probation is 5 years for Staff Nurse, 3 years for the two clerk posts and 2 years for the doctors and the Food Analyst.

The Gynaecologist, Paediatrician and Staff Nurse posts are funded fully by a state grant for urban health centres. The notice says they continue subject to that grant.

8 of 31 Jamnagar Municipal Corporation Recruitment 2026 posts have no category

The notice gives each post’s total, then splits it into General, EWS (Economically Weaker Sections), SC, ST and SEBC (Socially and Educationally Backward Classes) columns. For four posts, those columns fall short of the total:

  • Medical Officer: 5 posts, but the columns show General 2 and ST 1.
  • Staff Nurse: 10 posts, but the columns show General 2, EWS 1, ST 1 and SEBC 3.
  • Senior Clerk: 8 posts, but the columns show General 3, ST 1 and SEBC 2.
  • Clerk cum Data Entry Operator: 4 posts, but the columns show General 1, ST 1 and SEBC 1.

In all, the columns cover 23 of the 31 posts. The notice does not say which category the other 8 posts belong to. No post anywhere is shown for SC. Women’s posts are 2 in Medical Officer, 3 in Staff Nurse (2 General and 1 ST), 2 in Senior Clerk and 1 in Clerk cum Data Entry Operator. The Staff Nurse post also keeps 1 post for a person with a disability and 1 for an ex-serviceman.

JMC applies the reserved quota and the age relaxations only to SC, ST, SEBC and EWS applicants whose families are originally from Gujarat. Choose a general post as a reserved-category applicant, and the extra years no longer apply.

MBBS, GNM or a degree: JMC qualifications post by post

  • Staff Nurse: a basic B.Sc. (Nursing) from an Indian Nursing Council-recognised institute, or a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM). No experience is asked for.
  • Senior Clerk (Tax Inspector or Recovery Officer): a graduate degree from a recognised university and 1 year of experience in a post with similar responsibility.
  • Clerk cum Computer Data Entry Operator: a graduate degree and a pass in the CCC (Course on Computer Concepts) course.
  • Medical Officer: MBBS and medical council registration.
  • Gynaecologist and Paediatrician: MBBS, plus an MD or postgraduate diploma in the subject, and Gujarat Medical Council registration.
  • Food Analyst: a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Food Technology or another listed science subject. You also need at least 3 years of experience in food analysis and a pass from the board the Food Authority appoints for Food Analysts.

Experience counts only from the date you got the qualification. Part-time, daily-wage, apprentice and trainee work does not count. For private-sector experience, the notice also asks for a salary bank statement and Form-16 or an income tax return. Everyone selected must also pass CCC or CCC+, whichever applies, during probation.

Up to 45 for reserved, women and disabled applicants

Reserved-category men get 5 more years, and reserved-category women 10. General-category women get 5 more years. Candidates with disabilities get 10 to 20 more years. All of these stop at 45. Permanent, contract and fixed-pay JMC employees may apply up to 45, except for the Gynaecologist, Paediatrician and Staff Nurse posts.

Ex-servicemen add their length of service plus 3 years. The notice gives two different minimums for this, though. The age table on page 2 asks for at least 5 years of defence service, while para 17.6 on page 8 asks for only 6 months.

JMC objective exam in Gandhinagar or Ahmedabad; syllabus not yet out

JMC will hold a single objective exam, either computer-based or on an OMR sheet, where you shade answer bubbles. The paper will be at the level of each post’s qualification and will usually be held in Gandhinagar or Ahmedabad. After that come document verification and, for the posts where it applies, an interview. The final list uses marks from the written exam and the interview where there is one. JMC will also prepare a waiting list.

The notice does not give the syllabus, the total marks, the time, the pass mark or any negative marking. It says these details will appear later on the recruitment section of the JMC website. The notice prints no phone number or e-mail for questions, so for the doubts above, ask JMC through the contact details on that website before you pay. A widow, or a player with a recognised sports record, can earn a 5% marks bonus, and only one such benefit counts.

Rs 1,000 or Rs 500 per JMC post, and no refund

  1. Apply on ojas.gujarat.gov.in. One Time Registration (OTR) only fills your details in. It does not count as an application.
  2. Fill a separate form for each post you want. No certificates are uploaded, but enter every detail exactly as it is on your certificates.
  3. Upload a recent passport-size photo. Keep copies, because the same photo is used at the exam and at document verification.
  4. Confirm the form, then pay online through “Online Payment of Fee” by 18 November 2026, 11:59 PM. Download the e-receipt. If it does not download, JMC has not received the fee.

The fee is Rs 1,000 for General, SEBC and EWS candidates, and Rs 500 for all women, SC, ST, ex-servicemen and disabled candidates. It is not refunded, and a form cannot be withdrawn. To fix a mistake, send a fresh form before 17 November 2026 and pay again. Only the last confirmed form counts.

Other points in Advt 05 to 11/2026-27 to note

  • The disability table prints the Staff Nurse advertisement as “09/2025-26” instead of 09/2026-27.
  • The disability table headers say 40 to 70%, while para 18.2 asks only for 40% or more.
  • The notice does not name a nursing council registration for Staff Nurse. It does say that any registration a post needs must be valid on the date of application.
  • The notice contradicts itself on the qualification date. Paras 12.1 and 13.1 (page 5) ask for the qualification and experience by a date JMC fixes before document verification. Para 28.1 (page 11) says the position on 17 November 2026 will be considered. Plan to hold everything by 17 November 2026.
  • No language rule is printed in the notice. The OJAS pages for Advt 09 to 11 add a language condition.

JMC Staff Nurse applicants and the GSSSB nursing drive

The state board ran a GSSSB Staff Nurse special drive for disabled candidates, with a form that ended on 29 October 2026. Health posts across the state are collected under health department jobs, and municipal and state openings under Gujarat government jobs. Clerk applicants can browse jobs for graduates.
