ESIC Varanasi Recruitment 2026 is a walk-in for doctors and other teaching staff on contract at ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Pandeypur, Varanasi. Advertisement No. 05/2026, dated 21 October 2026, lists 11 Professor, 15 Associate Professor, 12 Assistant Professor and 39 Senior Resident (SR) posts, plus 1 Tutor post. Two more SR seats are marked as “virtual vacancy”. Interviews are on 3 November and 4 November 2026, with reporting from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The contract is for one year and can be extended up to three years.
ESIC Varanasi Recruitment 2026 vacancy table, department by department
The table below copies the advertisement’s own figures from pages 1 and 2. UR means unreserved. EWS means Economically Weaker Section. A star marks a seat the notice calls a “virtual vacancy”. The notice does not explain that term.

Pathology and Eye appear in the table with 0 in every column, so they are left out above. The single Tutor post is reserved for ST. Faculty and SR seats add up to 77, and 78 with the Tutor, not counting the 2 virtual SR seats. The notice says all these numbers are provisional and may go up or down.
3 November or 4 November: which Pandeypur interview day is yours
Page 1 of the notice splits the walk-in by department. Both days use the same venue: Office of the Dean, 2nd Floor, ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Pandeypur, Varanasi, U.P. 221002. Reporting is from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and the interview is offline only.
- 3 November 2026: faculty and SR in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Pediatrics, ENT and Ophthalmology. (The notice writes Obstetrics and Gynecology as “OBGY”.)
- 4 November 2026: faculty and SR in Anesthesiology, Forensic Medicine, Psychiatry, Pharmacology, Radiology, General Surgery and Chest, and the Tutor post.
Four departments with seats in the page 2 vacancy table are not named under either day on page 1: ICU, Accident and Emergency, Dental and Statistician. Together they hold 11 seats. Ophthalmology is named for 3 November, but the Eye row on page 2 has no seat. The ESIC recruitments page shows only one interview date, “Interview (2026-11-04)”, for the whole advertisement. If you are applying in one of those four departments, confirm your day before you travel. Email the Nodal Officer, Recruitment Cell, at deanvaranasi@gmail.com, the query address on page 4, point 8(vii). The notice prints no phone number.
Fixed basic pay under OM Z-11012/51/2022-Med VI of 8 December 2022
Pay follows office memorandum (OM) No. Z-11012/51/2022-Med VI dated 8 December 2022. Each post gets a fixed basic pay “and other allowance as admissible”.
| Post | Fixed basic pay |
|---|---|
| Professor | Rs 1,23,100 |
| Associate Professor | Rs 78,800 |
| Assistant Professor | Rs 67,700 |
| Senior Resident | Rs 67,700 |
| Tutor | Not printed in the advertisement |
The notice does not list which allowances are paid or at what rate. So this page does not estimate take-home pay. Retired employees and pensioners may be allowed to draw the full pay with no cut. They also keep their pension and dearness relief (the price-rise addition on pension) during the contract.
Experience counted to 30 November for Assistant Professors, to the interview day for others
Age is counted on the date of your interview. Teaching faculty must not be over 69 years. Senior Residents can be up to 45 years. Faculty can stay on till age 70 at most. The notice prints no age relaxation.
Qualifications follow the National Medical Commission (NMC) rules in Gazette Notification No. CG-DL-E-05072025-264399 dated 30 June 2025. The advertisement does not print post-wise degrees or years of experience, so read those NMC rules for your post.
The date for counting your qualifying degree and experience is the interview date. Assistant Professor posts are different: for them the date is 30 November 2026. That is later than both interview days.
Your NMC or State Medical Council registration must show every degree after MBBS. If it is not updated, carry proof that you have applied. Without either, you may not be interviewed. If you are allowed to appear, your result will be withheld. A selected doctor must give the updated certificate when joining.
If you work in a government, autonomous or statutory body, you should bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC). If you do not have it yet, bring a copy of your NOC request.
Application Fee on page 3, Interview Fee on page 1: the same Rs 500 draft
Candidates outside the exempt groups below pay Rs 500 by demand draft (DD), a bank cheque you buy in advance. Make it in favour of “ESI Fund A/c No.- 1”, payable at Varanasi. You must bring the original DD on the interview day. The fee is not refunded in any case.
No fee is charged to SC and ST candidates, regular ESIC employees, women, ex-servicemen and candidates with a disability. Page 3 calls this money an “Application Fee”, while page 1 and the checklist call it an “Interview Fee”. Where the amount and DD details are printed, they do not conflict.
Emailing the ESIC Varanasi form to deanvaranasi@gmail.com before the walk-in
The application format is inside the same PDF, on pages 5 to 9. Use one form for each post. A form in any other format, or an incomplete form, will be rejected.
- Fill the form in CAPITAL letters. Paste a recent colour photo showing your full face, both ears and neck, and sign across it.
- Email a scanned copy of the filled form and your documents to deanvaranasi@gmail.com before your interview day.
- On the day, bring the original form, the original DD (if you pay a fee), your original documents and self-attested copies.
Page 1 says candidates “must send” the scanned form by email before the interview. Page 4, point 8(viii), calls emailing the form “desirable”. Sending the email before your interview day meets both lines.
Attach self-attested copies of these documents with the form:
- Class 10 certificate, as proof of date of birth.
- MBBS marksheets, attempt certificate and degree.
- Marksheets, attempt certificate and degree for MD, MS, DNB or any other degree.
- Caste or EWS certificate in the central government format, if it applies.
- Updated NMC or State Medical Council registration.
- Proof of publications and paper or poster presentations. Only NMC-approved publications are counted.
- Experience certificate, and a relieving certificate from your last employer if any.
- Recent passport-size photo and Aadhaar card.
- Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) or NMC biomedical research examination completion certificate and NMC medical education workshop certificate, if you have them.
The OBC (non-creamy layer) certificate must not be more than one year old on the interview date. The EWS certificate must follow the format in Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) office memorandum No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res) dated 31 January 2019.
More than seven days away without leave ends the ESIC Varanasi contract
Selection is based on your academic record and your interview before the Selection Board. Results go up on esic.gov.in and offers are sent by email. The contract terms on page 3, with the private practice rule from page 2:
- Either side can end the contract with one month’s notice. If you resign on the spot, you must deposit one month’s salary to ESIC by challan.
- There is no provident fund (PF), pension, gratuity, medical allowance, seniority or promotion.
- Staying away for more than 7 days without permission counts as leaving the job, and the contract ends on its own.
- Attendance is marked by hand and on the Aadhaar-based biometric system every working day.
- No private practice of any kind is allowed after joining.
No travel or daily allowance is paid for coming to the interview.
ESIC Pandeypur rules for reserved, EWS and de-reserved seats
Reservation follows central government rules, including for candidates with a disability. EWS seats are not carried forward. If no EWS candidate comes, others may be allowed to apply for that seat provisionally. They will be judged as unreserved candidates, on merit. A box on page 1 says unreserved candidates can apply against EWS seats.
If no reserved candidate is available for a seat, the notice says it may be filled for less than 45 days as a de-reserved seat. The same box says any candidate can be appointed against an unfilled reserved seat for 44 days, with a possible extension.
Virtual vacancy, Tutor pay and an “online” box: loose ends in Advertisement 05/2026
- The interview day for ICU, Accident and Emergency, Dental and Statistician seats is not given. Confirm it by email before you travel.
- The Tutor post has no pay figure on page 3, and page 2 gives age limits only for teaching faculty and Senior Residents, with no separate line for the Tutor.
- The term “virtual vacancy” for two SR seats is not explained.
- Page 1 says the interview is offline only, but the form (page 5, item 4) asks you to pick offline or online. Plan to attend in person.
- Page 2 asks “All Candidates” for medical council registration covering MBBS, MD or MS. The notice does not say what a dental or statistician candidate should show instead. The form does allow BDS, MDS and Dental Council registration.
Queries go to the Nodal Officer, Recruitment Cell, at deanvaranasi@gmail.com (page 4, point 8(vii)). The letterhead on page 1 also shows the Dean’s office email, dean-varanasi.up@esic.gov.in. Send any of these doubts there before your interview day.
From the department list to the Dean’s office by 11 AM
- Check your department’s day and the eligibility rules for your post in the NMC 2025 regulations.
- Get the DD made (if you pay), update your council registration and arrange your NOC.
- Email the filled form before your interview day, then reach Pandeypur between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM with originals.
