Doctors with at least three years of teaching or research after their MD or MS, and some Ph.D. holders, can apply in AIIMS Rewari Faculty Recruitment 2026. Employment Notification No. FAC./02/2026 offers 15 regular Group-A teaching posts: 8 Associate Professor and 7 Assistant Professor seats in 11 departments. AIIMS Rewari is one of the new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences, at Majra in Rewari district, Haryana. Indian citizens and OCI cardholders may apply, as the applicable rules permit. Applications are offline only. A typed form, with a demand draft and copies of certificates, must reach the Registrar between 8 October and 7 November 2026. Assistant Professors are placed at Level 12 of the 7th Pay Commission pay matrix and Associate Professors at the level printed as “Level-13A1+”. The upper age limit is 50.

Three years after MD or MS for an AIIMS Rewari Assistant Professor, six for Associate Professor
For the clinical departments, and for medical candidates in Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology, an Assistant Professor needs a medical degree listed under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. You also need an MD or MS in the subject, or a recognised qualification equivalent to it. On top of that, you need three years of teaching or research experience in the subject in a recognised institution, after the MD or MS.
An Associate Professor needs the same degrees and six years of teaching or research experience after the MD or MS.
Three rules decide whether your years count:
- Only experience gained after the essential qualification counts.
- Teaching or research experience counts only from institutions recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI), the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the University Grants Commission (UGC). If a college got recognition from a certain year, earlier years there do not count.
- The experience certificate must come from the head of the organisation and show the dates (“from” and “to”) and whether the work was teaching or research.
You must have the degree and the full experience on or before 7 November 2026. If you pass an exam or complete the years after that date, the notice says your candidature will be cancelled.
Non-medical candidates for Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology at AIIMS Rewari
Three pre-clinical departments also accept non-medical candidates. You need a master’s degree in the subject and a doctorate (Ph.D.). For Biochemistry, the master’s can be in Biochemistry or Medical Biochemistry. An Assistant Professor also needs three years of teaching or research after the doctorate. For Associate Professor, the experience needed is six years after the doctorate. Of these three departments, only Biochemistry and Physiology have Assistant Professor posts in this round, and only Anatomy has Associate Professor posts.
When a DNB needs one extra year at AIIMS Rewari
The notice states the DNB (Diplomate of National Board) rule in two different ways. When we checked the AIIMS Rewari website on 26 October 2026, no corrigendum had settled which one applies.
Version 1, page 3, clause 11(6), repeated on page 5, clause 18(iii): A DNB counts the same as an MD or MS in two cases. It must be granted in a medical institution with an attached hospital, or in a hospital with 500 or more beds. This follows the NMC notification of 14 February 2022, which the notice quotes. In all other cases, one more year of senior residency in a medical college is needed before the DNB counts for teaching.
Version 2, page 5, clause 18(vi)(2): DNB holders need 1 year of extra experience, “i.e. a total of 4 years”, from an MCI-recognised or permitted institution. This applies if the institution or hospital where they did DNB training had fewer than 500 beds. This clause does not mention the attached-hospital case. It also does not say which post the 4 years is for, and the notice gives no DNB total for Associate Professor.
So a DNB from a medical institution with an attached hospital of fewer than 500 beds needs no extra year under version 1, but one extra year under version 2. Does your DNB fall in this gap, or are you applying for Associate Professor with a DNB? Then e-mail AIIMS Rewari at ddaaiimsrewari@gmail.com before you send the form, and keep its reply. This is the query address printed on page 7 (item 19); the notice gives no phone helpline. Page 2, clause 11(4), says AIIMS Rewari’s Competent Authority decides whether a qualification is equivalent. In every case, attach proof of DNB equivalence issued by the competent authority (page 3, clause 11(6)).
Assistant Professor at Level 12 and Associate Professor at the printed “Level-13A1+”
| Post | Pay level (7th CPC) | Pay range printed in the notice |
|---|---|---|
| Assistant Professor | Level 12 | Rs 1,01,500 to Rs 1,67,400 |
| Associate Professor | Level-13A1+ (as printed) | Rs 1,38,300 to Rs 2,09,200 |
The 7th CPC is the 7th Central Pay Commission, whose pay matrix sets these levels. The notice adds “usual allowances as per Institute norms, including NPA as applicable”. NPA is the non-practising allowance paid to doctors who do not run a private practice. The notice says only “as applicable” and gives no NPA rate. The posts are whole-time, and private practice of any kind is banned.
The notice gives no monthly total, so we have not estimated take-home pay. Other terms it lists:
- Probation is two years.
- Staff are covered by the New Pension Scheme.
- Campus housing may not be available soon after joining. In that case, House Rent Allowance (HRA) is paid as for central government staff at Majra, Rewari.
- Joining time is 30 days from the appointment letter. Someone still doing a DM, MCh or fellowship can join only after finishing it by the last joining date.
No AIIMS Rewari applicant can be over 55 on 7 November 2026, whatever the relaxation
The upper age limit is 50 for every post, counted on the closing date, 7 November 2026. Relaxations are:
- SC and ST: 5 years.
- OBC: 3 years.
- PwBD: 5 years, whether or not the post is reserved for PwBD.
- Regular central government employees: 5 years, with a certificate in the Annexure-III format. Staff of autonomous bodies, state governments and PSUs do not get this.
- Ex-servicemen: 5 years.
Even after relaxation, age cannot cross 55 on 7 November 2026. SC, ST and OBC candidates applying for unreserved posts get no age relaxation.
OBC certificate dates and the NOC rule in FAC./02/2026
An OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate counts if it was issued between 1 April 2026 and 7 November 2026. If you do not have one yet, you may attach your older OBC and Non-Creamy Layer certificates, or the receipt of your application for a new one. The notice says those who attach the older certificates may sit the interview as OBC candidates for now. Anyone selected can join only after producing a certificate for 2026-27.
An EWS certificate must be issued on or before 7 November 2026. Without it, you are considered as an unreserved candidate.
A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer is required if you work in a government, semi-government or quasi-government body, a government company or a government-funded autonomous institution. This applies to contract staff in such bodies too. You can send it with the form or bring it to the interview. Without it, you will not be interviewed. If your job changes before the interview, you need a fresh NOC from the new employer.
A DD to the Director: Rs 3,000, or Rs 2,400 for SC and ST, with PwBD exempt
| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| UR, OBC and EWS | Rs 3,000 |
| SC and ST | Rs 2,400 (refunded if you appear in the interview) |
| PwBD | No fee |
The fee is paid only by a demand draft (DD) in favour of “Director, AIIMS Rewari”, payable at Rewari, and enclosed with the form. Bank charges are extra. Apart from the SC and ST refund, the fee is not returned. If you apply for more than one post, you send a separate form and a separate DD for each.
