The Birbhum district health office in West Bengal will hire 48 people on contract under the National Health Mission (NHM). The Birbhum NHM Recruitment 2026 has 24 Medical Officer (AYUSH) posts for BHMS, BAMS and BUMS doctors. These are the homoeopathy, Ayurveda and Unani medicine degrees. The posts are split into 10 for men and 14 for women. It also has 23 Pharmacist posts for D.Pharm holders and one Public Health Manager post. The online form runs from 11 AM on 15 October 2026 to 5 November 2026. Registration and fee payment close at midnight on 4 November 2026. Only permanent residents of West Bengal who know the local language can apply. Pay is a fixed monthly amount: Rs 32,000 for the doctors and Rs 22,000 for pharmacists.

Birbhum memo used here: Notification Memo No. DHFWS-II/HR-2026/732, dated 14 October 2026, from the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) and the Birbhum District Health and Family Welfare Samity. It is a scanned 7-page PDF, read page by page as images. The Birbhum NHM contract notice (PDF) is listed on the West Bengal health department website. We also read the district’s cancellation notice of 6 October 2026 on the Birbhum district recruitment page. On 26 October 2026 we checked again. The wbhealth.gov.in recruitment list still showed the Birbhum NHM notice with the dates 15 October to 5 November 2026. The PDF was unchanged, and there was no Birbhum corrigendum, extension or cancellation. The wbhealth online application portal listed all four Birbhum posts as open until 5 November 2026. It gave 4 November 2026 as the last date for registration and for payment.

Rs 35,000 at Sainthia, Rs 22,000 for pharmacists: Birbhum NHM Recruitment 2026 pay by post

Post (scheme) Posts Monthly pay (consolidated) Age on 1 January 2026
Medical Officer AYUSH (MHT), RBSK, male 10 Rs 32,000 Up to 40
Medical Officer AYUSH (MHT), RBSK, female 14 Rs 32,000 Up to 40
Pharmacist, RBSK 23 Rs 22,000 18 to 40
Public Health Manager, NUHM (Sainthia) 1 (UR) Rs 35,000 21 to 40
Total 48

RBSK and NUHM are the scheme names the notice uses. Pay is printed as a “consolidated” monthly amount, and the notice lists no separate allowances.

The doctors and pharmacists can be posted anywhere in Birbhum district. Postings follow the vacancies and a counselling round on final merit. The Public Health Manager post is at Sainthia ULB. The notice says these jobs are “purely on contractual basis”. Each selection panel stays valid for up to one year from its approval.

Age relaxation for reserved categories follows government norms (page 5). The notice does not give the number of years.

Separate MO AYUSH lists for men and women, and what “(EC)” leaves unclear

The Medical Officer (AYUSH) posts come in two tables. Table A has 10 posts “for MALE candidates”. Table B has 14 posts “for FEMALE candidates”. The pay, age limit, qualifications and scoring are the same in both.

Post Category-wise split in the notice
MO AYUSH, male (10) UR (unreserved) 4, SC 1, SC (EC) 1, ST 1, OBC 1, EWS (EC) 1, UR (EC) 1
MO AYUSH, female (14) UR 5, UR (EC) 2, UR (PwBD) 1, SC 2, SC (EC) 1, ST 1, OBC 1, EWS (EC) 1
Pharmacist (23) UR 7, UR (EC) 4, UR PwBD 1, SC 5, SC EC 1, ST 1, OBC 1, OBC (EC) 1, EWS 1, EWS (EC) 1

Many posts carry the mark “(EC)” (pages 1 to 3). The notice does not explain what EC stands for, or who can claim those posts. Before you choose a category, ask the Birbhum CMOH office. Its number, 8927806709 (call and WhatsApp), is printed at the top of every page, and the query email is hrcellbirbhum@gmail.com (page 6). The Pharmacist split is “as per 100 point roster 2026”.

Category certificates must be issued by the competent authority of West Bengal, on or before the last date (pages 5 and 6). The same applies to disability certificates. No SC, ST, OBC or disability claim is accepted after you submit the form. OBC status follows the state’s notification Labr/85-Emp/EC/1M-01/2025 of 25 May 2026, subject to pending court cases.

BHMS, BAMS or BUMS with internship and council registration for Birbhum’s 24 MO AYUSH posts

For both MO AYUSH tables you need:

  • a BHMS, BAMS or BUMS degree from an institution recognised by the council of that stream (graded BHMS also counts);
  • compulsory internship completed by the time you apply;
  • registration with the council of your stream;
  • the ability to read, write and speak Bengali.

For BHMS, the degree must be in the second schedule of the Homoeopathy Central Council Act, 1973. Registration must be in Part-A of the West Bengal state homoeopathic register, or Part I of the Central Register. An MD in Homoeopathy, Ayurveda or Unani earns extra marks.

Two-year D.Pharm, West Bengal council papers and Bengali for the 23 Birbhum pharmacists

Pharmacists need a two-year Diploma in Pharmacy (Allopathic) from an institute approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) or AICTE. The registration certificate must be from the West Bengal Pharmacy Council (page 3). You must also read, write and speak Bengali. A B.Pharm adds up to 20 marks and an M.Pharm up to 10, also in proportion to your percentage.

The Public Health Manager post at Sainthia accepts several degree routes. Examples are a dental or nursing degree, a master’s in life science or economics, or an MBA in HR or health care. It also needs computer skills and two years of experience in health programme management, counted after the qualification.

How 70% in Class 10 becomes 14 points on the Birbhum score sheet

The notice scores each post out of 100, mostly from your marks. Most lines are proportionate: you get your percentage of that line’s maximum (70% of 20 is 14). The MD line is a flat 20 extra marks.

Item MO AYUSH Pharmacist
Class 10 20 20
Class 12 20 20
BHMS / BAMS / BUMS 40 Not applicable
D.Pharm Not applicable 30
MD (extra) 20 Not applicable
B.Pharm (extra) Not applicable 20
M.Pharm (extra) Not applicable 10

Take an MO AYUSH applicant with 70% in Class 10, 75% in Class 12 and 65% in BHMS. The scores are 14, 15 and 26, so 55 out of 80 before any MD marks. Marks are rounded to 2 decimal places (page 6).

The Public Health Manager score is different: 75 for academic marks, 15 for a computer test (50% needed to pass it) and 10 for experience.

One point is not clear, because the notice says two different things.

  • Page 5 (notes): “Only shortlisted candidates based on the academic qualification will be called for interview or computer test”. These notes come right after the Public Health Manager table, the only table with a computer test.
  • Pages 2 to 4 (score tables): the MO AYUSH tables (pages 2 and 3) and the Pharmacist table (page 4) have no interview or test line. For pharmacists, page 4 says “All the online applied candidates will call for document verification in due time”.

So it is not certain whether MO AYUSH and Pharmacist applicants will face an interview or test. Before you apply, confirm with the Birbhum CMOH office on 8927806709 (call and WhatsApp) or hrcellbirbhum@gmail.com, and watch wbhealth.gov.in for the district’s next notice.

Pay by midnight of 4 November, submit by midnight of 5 November: memo 732 dates

Step Date in memo 732
Online form opens 11 AM, 15 October 2026
Last date of registration Midnight, 4 November 2026
Last date to pay the fee Midnight, 4 November 2026
Last date for full submission Midnight, 5 November 2026

The fee is Rs 100 for General candidates and Rs 50 for reserved categories. You pay online by net banking or a bank card. The fee is not refunded. Pay only once: after a successful payment, the portal sends you back to finish the same application (page 6).

The dates in the notice are not worded the same way. Page 1 says you can apply “from 11 am of 15.10.2026 to 05.11.2026”. Page 6 says registration and fee payment close at “Midnight of 04th November 2026”. It does not say whether this means the start or the end of 4 November. The online portal lists 4 November 2026 as the last date for registration and payment. To be safe, finish registration and payment by 3 November 2026. If you need more time, first confirm the exact cut-off with the Birbhum CMOH office on 8927806709 (call and WhatsApp) or hrcellbirbhum@gmail.com.

Photo, certificate match and the hr.wbhealth.gov.in printout for Birbhum applicants

  1. Apply through the “On-line Recruitment” link on wbhealth.gov.in. Offline forms are not accepted.
  2. Upload a proper photo and signature. A form without them can be cancelled (page 5).
  3. Type details exactly as in your certificates. A mismatch with the originals can cancel the form.
  4. Make sure your degree, internship, registration and experience are complete by the last date. Experience is counted only after the required qualification.
  5. Print the form from the “Application Print” option at hr.wbhealth.gov.in and keep it. You need it at document verification. Do not post it.

Questions go to the district HR cell at hrcellbirbhum@gmail.com, the address printed on page 6. The CMOH office header on every page also gives 8927806709 (call and WhatsApp) and cmohbirbhum@gmail.com.

What Birbhum memo 695 of 6 October means for earlier AYUSH applicants

On 6 October 2026 the Birbhum District Level Selection Committee issued memo DHFWS-II/DLSC/695. It cancelled 13 entries across five older notices, listed in its annexure, and the existing panels for posts under NHM and XVFC. The list includes two AYUSH recruitment notices of 27 January and 17 February 2026. It also includes a nine-post notice of 8 January 2026 that included Medical Officer (GDMO) and Staff Nurse. Memo 732 itself also says the authorities may cancel the recruitment process at any stage (page 6).

Memo 732 of 14 October does not mention those cancelled notices. It does not say whether people who applied under them must apply again. If you applied under an older notice, ask the HR cell whether you need to apply again.

Rampurhat Health District, also in Birbhum, has issued its own RBSK notice, memo DHFWS/RPH/DPMU/3029 of 14 October 2026 (Rampurhat notice PDF). Its registration and fee payment run from 27 October to 13 November 2026. The full form must be submitted by 17 November 2026. That is a separate recruitment with its own forms. This page covers only memo 732 from the CMOH office at Suri.
