On this page
Narayanpur Bastar Fighter Recruitment 2026 fills 383 Fighter Constable posts for local residents of Narayanpur district, Chhattisgarh. Paper forms go to the office of the Narayanpur Superintendent of Police (SP) or two police sub-division offices, between 2 November 2026 and 5 PM on 12 December 2026. Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates get 268 of these seats. You need Class 10 from a Chhattisgarh or Madhya Pradesh school, or Class 5 if you are ST or from a Naxal-affected or relief-camp family. You must be 18 to 28 on 1 January 2026. Selection is by a physical test, a written exam, an interview and bonus marks.
Narayanpur Bastar Fighter Recruitment 2026 has 268 ST posts out of 383
| Category | Posts |
|---|---|
| Unreserved (UR) | 42 |
| Other Backward Classes (OBC) | 53 |
| Scheduled Castes (SC) | 20 |
| Scheduled Tribes (ST) | 268 |
| Total | 383 |
The state government and Police Headquarters may change the number of posts and the pay scale. Some groups also have their own shares within each category. These are 30% for local women, 25% for Nagar Sainik (home guards), 15% for Sahayak Aarakshak (assistant constables) and 10% for ex-servicemen. Former Agniveers get 10% horizontal and category-wise reservation under a state letter of 14 October 2026.
The Gazette adds two details. Only home guards with three years of service can use the home guard quota. Posts kept for women, home guards or ex-servicemen that stay empty are not carried to the next year; other candidates fill them.
Schedule 5 of the rules sets the jump, throw and race marks for men
The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) has five events of 20 marks each. Each event allows only one try, and skipping any event is not allowed. UR candidates need 60 of the 100 marks, and SC, ST and OBC candidates need 50. The advertisement does not print the scoring. Schedule 5 of the Gazette does. For men it reads:
| Marks | Long jump | High jump | Shot put (16 lb) | 100 m race | 800 m race |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | 5.50 m or more | 1.50 m or more | 9 m or more | 12 seconds or less | Up to 2 minutes |
| 17 | 5 m or more | 1.45 m or more | 8 m or more | No such step | No such step |
| 14 | 4.50 m or more | 1.40 m or more | 7 m or more | Up to 14 seconds | Up to 2 minutes 30 seconds |
| 11 | 4 m or more | 1.35 m or more | 6 m or more | No such step | No such step |
| 7 | 3.75 m or more | 1.30 m or more | 5 m or more | Up to 16 seconds | Up to 3 minutes |
| 0 | Less than 3.75 m | Less than 1.30 m | Less than 5 m | More than 16 seconds | More than 3 minutes |
For example, 14 marks in each race and 11 in each of the three field events add up to 61, by our arithmetic. No minimum is printed for a single event, so in our reading a weak race can be balanced by a good throw. The PET is held only in daylight, never at night or under lights. Ex-servicemen have their own column in Schedule 5, with lower marks needed for the jumps and races; the shot put is the same.
Women’s PET marks in Schedule 5, and the long-jump rows that read oddly
Women throw an 8 lb shot. Their full and zero marks are:
- Long jump: 20 marks for 4.25 m or more, 0 for less than 2.50 m.
- High jump: 20 for 1.20 m or more, then 17, 14, 11 and 7 for 1.15 m, 1.10 m, 1.05 m and 1 m. Less than 1 m gets 0.
- Shot put: 20 for 8 m or more, then 17, 14, 11 and 7 for 7 m, 6 m, 5 m and 4 m. Less than 4 m gets 0.
- 100 m race: 20 for 14 seconds or less, 14 up to 16 seconds, 7 up to 18 seconds, 0 above 18 seconds.
- 800 m race: 20 up to 2 minutes 30 seconds, 14 up to 3 minutes, 7 up to 3 minutes 30 seconds, 0 above that.
The middle women’s long-jump rows are printed as “up to” a distance, not “or more”, so we could not tell how they are meant to be read. We have left them out. Ask the SP office how they will be applied.
Narayanpur’s two-hour written exam and an interview panel with a dialect expert
After the PET, a category-wise merit list is made. Up to 15 times the number of posts are called to the written exam, plus everyone tied at the cut-off. The exam has objective questions for 50 marks and lasts two hours, according to the Gazette. Questions come from general knowledge, reasoning, local geography and culture, traditions, social values and arithmetic.
Up to 3 times the number of posts are then called for an interview of 20 marks. A three-member committee formed by the Range Inspector General (IG) of Police takes it. For the dialect bonus, the rules add a local-dialect expert to this committee.
Bonus marks go up to 30. Knowing the district’s local dialect gives 20, a heavy motor vehicle licence 5, and an NCC “C” or NSS “C” certificate 5. You must hold the licence or certificates by 12 December 2026. The Gazette sets the total at 200 marks: PET 100, written 50, interview 20 and bonus 30.
A Bastar Fighter equals a district Constable (GD), with three years of probation
The rules say a Fighter Constable is equal to the district’s Constable (General Duty). Duties, pay and allowances are the same as for Constable (GD) in the state’s executive police force in these districts. The post is on Level 4 of the state pay matrix. No rupee amount appears in the notice or the rules, and we have not worked one out.
- Probation: three years, after a clean character verification and a medical test.
- Training: after appointment. Failing its tests can extend the training or end the service.
- Pension: selected candidates may choose the National Pension System (NPS) or the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS), under a rule effective from 1 August 2025.
- Merit list: valid for one year. A waiting list of 25% of the posts is also published.
- Travel fare: only SC, ST and OBC candidates get the actual fare, as per state orders.
Bastar Fighter Head Constable after eight years, and no district transfer up to Sub-Inspector
Schedule 1 of the rules lists 4,600 Fighter Constable posts across the Bastar Fighters force, and a promotion ladder above them:
| Rank | Pay level | Service needed in the rank below |
|---|---|---|
| Head Constable | Level 5 | 8 years as Fighter Constable |
| Assistant Sub-Inspector | Level 6 | 5 years as Head Constable |
| Sub-Inspector | Level 8 | 3 years as Assistant Sub-Inspector |
| Inspector | Level 9 | 5 years as Sub-Inspector |
Staff promoted in the Bastar Fighters cadre are not transferred to another district up to the rank of Sub-Inspector.
Rule 9 bars canvassing, two living spouses and crimes against women
Rule 9 of the Gazette lists who cannot be appointed:
- anyone who tries to win support for the application by any means;
- a man with more than one living wife, or a woman married to a man who already has a living wife (the government may exempt in special cases);
- anyone found medically unfit, or unsuitable after an inquiry;
- anyone convicted of an offence against women (if such a case is pending, the appointment waits for the court’s decision);
- anyone who married before the legal minimum age.
Giving false information or hiding a fact on the form can also cost you the job, even after appointment.
Gazette age relaxations for home guards and contract staff beyond the Narayanpur notice
The advertisement gives the basic age relaxations: 5 more years for SC, ST and OBC, 10 for local women, and up to 36 for Chhattisgarh government staff. The Gazette lists more:
- Ex-servicemen may subtract their defence service, ending no more than 3 years above the limit.
- Home guards get their years of service, up to 8 years, but never above age 36.
- Contract staff get their years of contract service, up to age 38.
- Retrenched government servants may subtract up to 7 years of temporary service, ending no more than 3 years above the limit.
- The non-SC, ST or OBC spouse in an inter-caste marriage rewarded by the state gets 5 more years.
- Employees of state corporations and boards may be up to 36.
- Winners of the Shaheed Rajeev Pandey award, Gundadhur Samman, Maharaja Pravir Chandra Bhanjdeo Samman or the National Youth Award get 5 more years.
Local residence is proved with a residence certificate from the competent authority, the rules say. Height, chest and education rules match the advertisement: 163 cm for most men and 150 cm for ST men, 153 cm and 148 cm for women. Men need a chest of 79 cm (ST 74 cm) and must expand it by 5 cm. Women are exempt from the chest test.
