The CRPF Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 notice offers 521 posts for sportspersons: 182 Head Constable (General Duty) and 339 Constable (General Duty) posts. The online form runs from 9 AM on 12 October 2026 to 11:59 PM on 11 November 2026. Corrections are allowed from 12 to 14 November 2026. You need a medal, a top position or a listed national-level appearance won between 30 September 2024 and 30 September 2026. Constable needs Class 10. Head Constable needs Class 12. The base age limit is 18 to 23 years on 1 August 2026.

Read in full for this page: the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) advertisement Advt. No. R.II-21/2026-Sports dated 17 September 2026 (English PDF). It opens with a one-page short notice, followed by a detailed notice printed as pages 1 to 49. Page numbers on this page refer to those printed pages. The notice says its English text wins if the Hindi version reads differently (page 20). Both versions and the apply link sit on the CRPF recruitment website. On 26 October 2026 that site listed one corrigendum signed on 13 October 2026, which corrects the birth-date range on page 8. It listed no date extension.

CRPF Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 seats: 182 Head Constable and 339 Constable posts

All 521 posts are Group C, non-gazetted jobs in the General Duty (GD) cadre. GD means regular force duty, not office or trade work. The posts are filled on a temporary basis and are “likely to be made permanent” (page 1). Selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India or abroad.

Post Male Female Total Pay Level and basic pay range
Head Constable (GD) 150 32 182 Level 4: Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100
Constable (GD) 258 81 339 Level 3: Rs 21,700 to Rs 69,100
Total 408 113 521

Pay Level is the step on the central government’s 7th Pay Commission pay table. CRPF calls these seat numbers tentative. They may go up or down at any stage (page 5).

Athletics 101, archery 3: CRPF sports quota seats in all 22 sports

Seats are fixed by sport and, in most sports, by event or weight class. You compete only for the seats in your own discipline. Athletics has the most seats, followed by aquatics and shooting. The table below gives each sport’s total from pages 1 to 5. Male and female figures are shown as “male / female”.

Sport Constable (M / F) Head Constable (M / F) Total
Athletics 50 / 10 37 / 4 101

Some sports have no seats for women, such as basketball, gymnastics, handball, badminton and body building. Archery has three seats, all for women Constables. Check your exact event or weight class in the full table before you apply. For example, athletics has 8 seats for the 100 m but only 3 for the marathon.

Born 2 August 2003 to 1 August 2008: CRPF sports quota birth dates after the corrigendum

Both posts have an age limit of 18 to 23 years on 1 August 2026. You must be born not earlier than 2 August 2003 and not later than 1 August 2008 (page 6, for both posts). Your birth date is taken only from your Class 10 certificate (page 6).

The first English notice printed a different range in its age relaxation section on page 8: 2 January 2003 to 1 January 2008. CRPF fixed this with a corrigendum signed on 13 October 2026. It changes page 8 (para 5) to 2 August 2003 to 1 August 2008, the same range as page 6. The Hindi notice already uses this range. So ignore the January dates if you see them in an older copy of the notice.

Up to 33 for SC and ST sportspersons: CRPF age relaxation

The relaxation table on page 8 gives extra years “to meritorious sports person”. The upper limit of 23 rises by these years:

Category Extra years in the notice Upper age this gives
Unreserved 5 28
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) 5 + 3 = 8 31
SC and ST 5 + 5 = 10 33
Ex-servicemen (Unreserved) 5 + 3 = 8 after deducting military service
Ex-servicemen (OBC) 5 + 3 + 3 = 11 after deducting military service
Ex-servicemen (SC and ST) 5 + 5 + 3 = 13 after deducting military service

For ex-servicemen, the extra years apply after the length of military service is subtracted from actual age. CRPF’s own staff with three years of continuous service get up to 5 more years, plus 5 for SC or ST and 3 for OBC (page 8). Your SC, ST, OBC or EWS status is judged on 11 November 2026, the closing date. OBC candidates must not be in the creamy layer on that date. Certificates must be in the formats given in the annexures.

Sports results that qualify for CRPF Head Constable and for Constable

The sports rules differ by post. Head Constable asks for a higher level of result.

Head Constable (GD), page 6. You qualify if you meet any one of these:

  • You represented India in a recognised international competition, with clearance from the Department of Sports.
  • National Games or a national championship: a medal or a top-3 place while playing for your state or Union Territory (UT).
  • Inter University Tournaments: 1st or 2nd place in an individual event, or a team that reached the final.
  • Junior National level games, championship or meet: a gold or silver medal.

Constable (GD), pages 6 and 7. You qualify if you meet any one of these:

  • You represented a state at a Senior or Junior National level games or championship. No medal is needed for this one.
  • National School Games (SGFI): a medal or a top-3 place for your state school team.
  • Khelo India University, Youth or Winter Games: a medal or a top-3 place for your state or UT.
  • Inter-University Tournaments: playing for your university in any sport is enough.

Only results from 30 September 2024 to 30 September 2026 count (pages 8 and 14). The certificates must be with you by the last date. If you are still waiting for an exam result or a sports certificate, the notice says you are not eligible (page 7).

How CRPF turns one medal into your merit marks

There is no written exam. Your rank in your sport depends only on marks for your best sports result. The Sports Trial Test is pass or fail. If you fail the trial, you are out, but passing it adds no marks (page 16). Page 9 gives this marks scale:

Competition level Gold Silver Bronze Took part
Olympic Games 100 96 92 80
World Championship or World Cup 90 86 82 70
Asian Games or Commonwealth Games 80 76 72 60
Asian or Commonwealth Championship or Cup 70 66 62 50
Youth Olympic Games 60 56 52 40
Youth or Junior World Championship or World Cup 55 51 47 35
Youth or Junior Asian or Commonwealth Championship 50 46 42 30
South Asian (SAF) Games or other recognised international event (7 or more countries) 40 36 32 26
National Games or Senior National Championship (individual) 30 26 22 12
National Games or Senior National Championship (team) 26 22 18 8
Junior or Youth National, Inter University, School Games, Khelo India University or Youth Games (individual) 20 16 12 6
Same events (team) 16 12 8 4

Only one result counts for marks. If you have medals from three events, CRPF takes the one that gives the most marks. Extra medals add no marks, though page 10 says a candidate with more than one medal may be preferred in a tie. Page 10 also sets an order of preference, with international players first. The SAF Games row also needs a medal at a national level event.

When two candidates have equal marks, CRPF breaks the tie in this order (page 17):

  1. Among equal international results, a better national result ranks higher.
  2. Next, the older candidate ranks higher.
  3. Last, names are taken in English alphabetical order.

The Board may also recommend an outstanding player who needs some relief in height, chest or weight for their sport. Such a case needs approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs (page 9).

Forms 1 to 5 (Annexures J to N) for CRPF sports certificates

Your sports certificate must be signed by the right authority and be in the set form (page 17):

  • International events: Secretary of the national federation, Form 1 (Annexure J).
  • National events: Secretary of the national federation or the state association, Form 2 (Annexure K).
  • Inter University events: Dean of Sports or the university’s officer in charge of sports, Form 3 (Annexure L).
  • National School Games: the officer in charge of school sports in the state’s education directorate, Form 4 (Annexure M).
  • Khelo India Games: the officer named by the Sports Authority of India, Form 5 (Annexure N).

A plain participation or medal certificate in another format may not be accepted. Arrange the right form before you apply.

Aadhaar check to medical: five CRPF stages and a one-week stay

CRPF issues online admit cards only to candidates whose forms are in order. Admit cards are not sent by post. Page 19 tells candidates to download them from www.crpf.gov.in, while the rest of the notice points to rect.crpf.gov.in, so watch both. CRPF writes to candidates only by e-mail and SMS. Carry an original photo ID, such as a driving licence, voter card, Aadhaar, PAN card or college ID card, to the PST, sports trial and medical. The stages are:

  1. Identity check: biometric capture, linked to your Aadhaar. Bring your original Aadhaar card to the document check, sports trial and medical.
  2. Documents: originals for age, education, caste, sports results and any relaxation claim. You hand over self-attested copies on the spot.
  3. Physical Standard Test (PST): height and, for men, chest. You may appeal a PST failure on the same day.
  4. Sports Trial Test: in your own sport, pass or fail. You may face a dope test on the trial day.
  5. Detailed Medical Examination (DME): for those placed within the seats in merit order. If you are declared unfit, you can ask for a Review Medical Examination (RME) within 24 hours.

CRPF pays no travel, lodging or food for these stages. The notice tells candidates to come ready to stay at least one week at the venue (page 18). No dates for these stages are given yet.

Region-wise heights, 5 cm chest expansion and the 6/6 and 6/9 vision rule in CRPF

Group Height, men (cm) Height, women (cm) Chest, men (cm)
General standard 170 157 80, expanding by 5
Scheduled Tribes 162.5 150 76, expanding by 5
Scheduled Tribes of North Eastern states 157 147.5 76, expanding by 5
Scheduled Tribes of Left Wing Extremism affected districts 160 147.5 76, expanding by 5
Garhwali, Kumaoni, Dogra, Maratha; Assam, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Ladakh 165 155 78, expanding by 5
Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura 162.5 152.5 77, expanding by 5
Gorkha Territorial Administration (Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong) 157 152.5 77, expanding by 5

Relaxed heights and chest sizes need a certificate in the Annexure I format at the PST (page 12). Weight must suit your height and age as per the chart in Annexure D.

The medical rules on pages 12 and 13 include these points:

  • Distance vision of at least 6/6 and 6/9 without glasses or lenses.
  • Colour blindness, knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins and squint lead to rejection.
  • Tattoos are allowed only on the inner left forearm or the back of the hands, smaller than a quarter of that part. Religious symbols and names are allowed.

Sports certificate upload first, then one post and one sport on the CRPF portal

Men in the Unreserved, OBC and EWS categories pay Rs 100 online. Women of all categories, SC, ST and ex-servicemen pay nothing (page 14). The fee is not refunded or carried to another recruitment.

Steps from the notice (pages 14 and 18 to 20):

  1. Create your profile on rect.crpf.gov.in. The board’s page also links the form at recruitment.crpf.gov.in.
  2. Upload your sports certificate for your best result to your profile before you apply. Without it, the form is rejected at scrutiny.
  3. Choose one post and one sport. You may apply for only one post. If CRPF finds more than one form from you, it rejects all of them.
  4. Write your name, birth date and parents’ names exactly as in your Class 10 certificate. The notice gives a correction window of 12 to 14 November 2026. But page 19 says requests to change personal details will not be accepted, and the notice does not say which fields the window covers. So get them right the first time.
  5. Upload a clear photo, signature and thumb impression. The sample form on page 48 shows a 3.5 x 4.5 cm photo. Blurred uploads are rejected.
  6. Pay the fee if it applies to you, by 11 November 2026.

Persons with disabilities are not eligible for this recruitment (page 18). If you already work in a government or semi-government job, apply through your employer with a No Objection Certificate (NOC) (page 7). The NOC form is Annexure A on page 21. Page 15 says you must produce the NOC at the document check, or you will be rejected. Page 15 calls it “Annexure-B”, but Annexure B (page 22) is the bond form, and the 13 October corrigendum does not change this. If your employer is unsure which form to sign, ask the CRPF helpline, 011-26160255 (Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM).

The Rs 1 lakh bond and two-year sports review after joining CRPF

Selected candidates sign a bond of Rs 1,00,000 (page 7). In it, you agree to serve the force for at least three years, or any other period prescribed from time to time, before you resign. If you leave earlier, you must pay the government Rs 1,00,000 plus interest (Annexure B, page 22).

CRPF also watches each sports recruit’s performance for at least two years. You must take part in every tournament of your sport. If your standard drops or you are not up to the mark within those two years, your service will be ended (page 19). Later, if your performance falls because of age, illness or injury, you can be sent to a regular GD battalion for combat duty (page 20).

CRPF Constable and Head Constable basic pay, DA, HRA and pension

Constable (GD) starts at a basic pay of Rs 21,700 at Level 3. Head Constable (GD) starts at Rs 25,500 at Level 4. On top of basic pay, the posts carry Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and other allowances allowed in CRPF (page 5). DA is a percentage of basic pay that the government revises. HRA depends on the city of posting. The notice gives no total monthly figure, so this page does not estimate take-home pay. The notice says the new Defined Contributory Pension Scheme, under the Finance Ministry order of 7 January 2004, applies to those selected (pages 5 and 6).

Medal dates, a signed sports form and a helpline call for CRPF applicants

  1. Check that your best result falls between 30 September 2024 and 30 September 2026 and fits your post’s list.
  2. Get your sports certificate in the correct form from the right authority, and scan it for upload.
  3. Check that the birth date on your Class 10 certificate falls between 2 August 2003 and 1 August 2008, or within your relaxed upper age.
  4. If you work in a government job, get the NOC signed in the Annexure A format, and call the helpline if anything about it is unclear.
