KEA JE Civil Recruitment 2026 covers 218 diploma-level technical posts in Karnataka, by our sum of the two notices’ totals. The posts are Junior Engineer (Civil), Assistant Town Planner, Junior Engineer (Mines and Geology) and Draughtsman. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) issued two notices on 31 October 2026. Notice 41/2026 has 187 posts outside the Kalyana Karnataka region, and notice 40/2026 has 31 posts in the Kalyana Karnataka local cadre. Every post is on the pay scale of Rs 54,175 to 99,400. Applications opened on 31 October 2026 and close on 26 November 2026, with fee payment allowed until 27 November. You need a civil engineering diploma (or a listed equivalent) by 26 November 2026.

KEA notices 41 and 40 of 2026: No. ED/KEA/41/Ne.Vi/2026 (RPC) and No. ED/KEA/40/Ne.Vi/2026 (KK), dated 31-10-2026, 18 pages each, signed by KEA’s Executive Director. They are scanned in Kannada; every English line below is our reading of them. Each notice is on its own KEA page: the JE Civil and equal posts page for the rest of Karnataka and the same page for Kalyana Karnataka. On 1 November 2026 each page showed its notice PDF and an online application link dated 31/10/2026. We checked again on 5 November 2026. Each page now also lists two files dated 3 November: the Paper 2 syllabus and the post-wise reservation tables. Neither page lists a corrigendum, extension or new date.

Where the 218 KEA JE Civil Recruitment 2026 posts are

RPC means the Residual Parent Cadre, the posts outside the Kalyana Karnataka local cadre. KK means the Kalyana Karnataka local cadre under Article 371(J) of the Constitution.

Post Department or body RPC (41/2026) KK (40/2026)
Assistant Town Planner Urban Development Authorities and Town and Country Planning 105 14
Junior Engineer (Civil) Greater Bengaluru Authority 46 4
Junior Engineer (Civil) Karnataka Housing Board 15 5
Junior Engineer (Civil) KRIDL (Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Ltd) 12 3
Junior Engineer (Civil) Directorate of Groundwater 5 none
Junior Engineer (Civil) Karnataka State Minerals Corporation 2 none
Draughtsman Karnataka Slum Development Board 2 none
Junior Engineer (Mines and Geology) Mines and Geology Department none 4
Junior Engineer (Civil) Agricultural Marketing Department none 1
Total 187 31

Assistant Town Planner is the largest group, with 119 of the 218 posts (105 plus 14, our addition). The combined figure of 218 is our addition of the two printed totals. KEA’s post-wise reservation tables, posted on its pages on 3 November 2026, give the category-wise split for each body (for example 105 Assistant Town Planner posts in the RPC table). KEA says post numbers and classification may still change by a corrigendum. Neither notice gives a district-wise split.

Civil diploma branches accepted for the 218 KEA technical posts

  • Assistant Town Planner: a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution, or an equivalent: Civil Engineering (General) or Civil Engineering (Draughtsmanship).
  • Junior Engineer (Civil) at the Housing Board, KRIDL, Groundwater, Minerals Corporation and Agricultural Marketing: a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a government-recognised institute.
  • Junior Engineer (Mines and Geology): the KK notice prints the same Diploma in Civil Engineering line.
  • Draughtsman (Slum Development Board): a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a government-recognised institution.

You must hold the diploma on 26 November 2026. If your result is still awaited on that date, you cannot apply.

Greater Bengaluru Authority JE: notices 40 and 41 list different diplomas

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Junior Engineer post appears in both notices, but its qualification is printed differently. Both ask for a three-year diploma and give preference to AutoCAD training.

  • RPC notice 41/2026, page 2: a diploma in Civil, Landscape Architecture, Transportation Planning, Structural or Planning Engineering, or an equivalent.
  • KK notice 40/2026, page 2: a diploma in Civil Engineering (General), Civil Engineering (Draftsmanship), Architectural, or Architectural Assistantship (C-20 syllabus).

So an Architectural diploma is named only for the KK GBA posts, and a Transportation Planning diploma only for the RPC ones. If your diploma is not Civil Engineering and you want a GBA post, ask KEA which list applies before you pay. The helpline is 080-23460460 (10 AM to 6 PM, according to the notices).

Who can sit for notices 40 and 41: age caps and fee in one table

Age is counted on 26 November 2026, and the minimum is 18. The caps below already include a one-time five-year relaxation granted on 29 January 2026.

Category Upper age Fee
General Merit 40 Rs 750
Category 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B 43 Rs 750
SC, ST, Category 1 45 Rs 500
Ex-servicemen Cap plus service and 3 years Rs 500
Transgender candidates Cap by category Rs 500
Persons with disabilities Cap plus 10 years Rs 250

Widows and freed bonded labourers also get 10 more years. Karnataka government staff get their service, up to 10 years, and Census staff their service, up to 5 years. The fee is paid online and is not refunded. Its deadline, 27 November, falls a day after the form closes.

Paper 2 is a civil “specific paper”, and its 14-topic syllabus is on KEA’s pages since 3 November

KEA will hold the exam on an OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheet, not on a computer. Both notices say Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be held in January 2027, with the timetable to come later. Only the Kannada language test has a fixed date: 8 January 2027, from 3 PM to 5 PM.

Paper Content Questions and marks Time
Paper 1 General knowledge: current events, everyday observation, Constitution, Indian and Karnataka history and geography, state administration, Karnataka’s economy (with rural development and Panchayat Raj) and environment 100 questions, 100 marks 2 hours
Paper 2 “Specific paper” for these posts; KEA’s 3 November syllabus lists 14 civil subjects, from materials of construction and surveying to RCC design, transportation and estimation 100 questions, 100 marks 2 hours
Kannada test Multiple choice at SSLC first-language level; pass mark 50, not counted for merit 150 marks 3 PM to 5 PM

Ranks go only to those with at least 35% of the total. Each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks, and so does a question with no circle shaded at all. Shade the fifth circle for any question you skip; KEA allows 5 extra minutes for this after the final bell. Your exam centre cannot be changed.

Three things exempt you from the Kannada test. One is Kannada as a first or second language in SSLC or a higher exam. The others are schooling in Kannada medium, or an earlier pass in a compulsory Kannada test of the Commission or another selecting body. Missing it, or scoring under 50, ends your chance.

Notice 40 or notice 41: you can end up with only one JE post

The two notices share one exam, and online counselling gives each candidate at most one post across both. After the result you download a Candidate Verification Slip with your marks, rank and claimed reservations. A wrong reservation claim can be deleted there before the mock allotment, but nothing can be added. You then list posts in order of choice, see a mock allotment, and may reorder before the provisional list (one name per vacancy), the final list and an additional list. Equal marks are settled by age (older first), then by marks in the qualifying exam.

31 Kalyana Karnataka JE posts and the Annexure-A certificate

To claim the local reservation for the 31 KK posts, you need the Annexure-A certificate with an RD number. It is issued by the Assistant Commissioner of your sub-division under the 2013 rules for Kalyana Karnataka reservation. A serving government employee can use a head-of-office certificate instead. This applies if the service book recorded a native place in the region before 1 January 2013. The KK notice does not say what share of posts goes to local candidates. It also does not say whether others can compete for these posts.

Forms D, E and F, and the three printed quotas in notices 40 and 41

Caste certificates must carry an RD number, typed correctly in the form: Form D for SC and ST, Form E for Category 1, Form F for Category 2A to 3B. A Form F certificate stays valid for five years and must be valid on 26 November 2026. Balija sub-castes claim 3A for jobs. The only quotas printed with a percentage are persons with at least 40% disability (5%), transgender candidates (1%) and sports achievers (2%). Women, rural, Kannada-medium, ex-servicemen and project-displaced claims appear without a figure.

kearecruitment.karnataka.gov.in: sending the notice 41 or 40 form

  1. Open the KEA application portal for these engineering posts, which both KEA pages link to. The notices themselves point to cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea.
  2. Have a recent photo ready as a JPEG on a white background (50 KB to 200 KB). Your black-ink signature must be a JPEG of 50 KB to 70 KB.
  3. Check every claim before you submit. No change is allowed afterwards, and your mobile number and e-mail are final.
  4. Submit by 26 November 2026 and pay by 27 November 2026. Keep the form and the fee receipt.

The notices list certificates you must already hold when you apply. These include your Aadhaar card, the marks cards and certificate of your qualification, and SSLC or another date-of-birth proof. Keep caste and other claim certificates too. KK applicants also need the 371(J) local certificate. If you are in government service and get selected, you must get a no-objection certificate from your employer for the appointing authority.

Rs 54,175 to 99,400 for every post; KRIDL left out of NPS

All the posts are on the Karnataka pay scale of Rs 54,175 to 99,400. This is basic pay; we have not estimated take-home pay, because that depends on the Karnataka government’s own allowance orders. Probation is two years. The National Pension System (NPS) applies to all the bodies in these notices except KRIDL.

KEA’s 29 October SDA and FDA notices, and other diploma openings

KEA’s separate Group C notices of 29 October, for Second Division Assistant and First Division Assistant posts, take forms until 25 November 2026. Wider lists are on Karnataka government jobs, jobs for diploma holders and state commission and board jobs. Gujarat’s GSSSB Surveyor 2026 also takes civil diploma holders.
