The online form for APSSB CSLE 2026 opens at 3 PM on 9 November 2026 and closes at 3 PM on 23 November 2026. The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) will fill 93 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) posts in Group C through this exam. Class 10 pass or ITI is enough. You must be 18 to 35 years old on 23 November 2026, before any relaxation. All applicants, including those for UR (unreserved) seats, must hold an Arunachal Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC). They also need an Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) certificate and must speak a local tribal language. The advertisement gives Sunday, 20 December 2026 as the tentative test date.

CSLE papers checked: Recruitment Notice No. APSSB-13/15/2026/1448, Advertisement No. 07/26, dated 14 October 2026. Its 11 pages are scans of paper with no typed text, so each page was checked by eye. We also used the board’s notice of 9 October 2026 on the exam date, its syllabus notification No. APSSB-13/9/2026/1437 of 8 October 2026, and the CSLE 2025 advertisement (No. 04/25) for comparison. The CSLE 2026 advertisement (PDF) is listed on the APSSB notice board. On 19 October 2026 the APSSB website showed no corrigendum (correction notice) or date extension for Advertisement No. 07/26.

Only Arunachal tribal residents can sit CSLE 2026, even for UR seats

Para 6.1 of the notice applies a new state rule to every candidate. It comes from Government of Arunachal Pradesh Notification No. AR-33/17/2026-SECT-1-AR/111 of 26 August 2026. Note 1.1 says it applies to all categories of vacancies, so the UR seats are covered too.

  • PRC: you need a valid Permanent Residence Certificate for Arunachal Pradesh, issued by the office that grants it. You must also be an Indian citizen.
  • APST certificate: your tribe must be on the list in the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950, and you must hold its certificate. You must also be an original inhabitant of the state.
  • Tribal language: you must speak at least one indigenous tribal language of Arunachal Pradesh and know the local indigenous tribes. There will be a language test under the 26 August 2026 notification, but the CSLE notice gives no format, date or marks for it.

So what happens to the UR seats? Note 1.5, based on a state order of 10 October 2000 (OM-12/2000), is the closest the notice comes to an answer. APST candidates selected on their own merit, without relaxed standards, can take UR or APST seats. The APST seats then go to APST candidates who needed relaxed standards. At document verification (DV) you must show both the APST certificate and the PRC.

Health Services 29, PWD 20: where the 93 MTS seats are

All nine post codes are MTS jobs at Pay Level 1, the entry step of the government pay table. The biggest groups are 29 general MTS seats in Health Services and 20 in the Public Works Department (PWD).

Post code Post Where the seats are Seats
38/26 MTS 11 offices (second table below) 69
39/26 MTS (Chowkidar) DC Bichom 1, DC Siang 1 2
40/26 MTS (Cook) Medical Education, Training & Research 4, Higher & Technical Education 2 6
41/26 MTS (Dak Runner) DC Bichom 1 1
42/26 MTS (Duftry) Planning & Investment 1 1
43/26 MTS (Helper) Higher & Technical Education 1 1
44/26 MTS (Mali) DC Bichom 1 1
45/26 MTS (Peon) Higher & Technical Education 3, DC Bichom 2, Planning & Investment 2, DC Pakke-Kessang 1 8
46/26 MTS (Sweeper) Civil Aviation 2, DC Bichom 1, Higher & Technical Education 1 4
Total 93

The 69 general MTS seats under post code 38/26 are spread over 11 offices:

Office (post code 38/26) Seats
Health Services 29
Public Works Department 20
Election 4
Rural Works Department 4
Secretariat Administration 3
Directorate of Sainik Welfare-cum-Rajya Sainik Board 2
DC Lohit 2
DC Upper Subansiri 2
DC Kamle 1
DC West Kameng 1
Higher & Technical Education 1
Total 69

By category, the notice lists 70 APST seats and 23 UR seats. Four seats are for ex-servicemen: 2 at the Sainik Welfare directorate and 2 in PWD. A 1988 state order (OM-7/86) keeps ex-servicemen seats for indigenous Arunachal tribals only.

One PWD seat is for a person with benchmark disability (PwBD), meaning a disability of at least 40%. It is for category (c), which covers locomotor disability (trouble moving the body), cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy. A 2007 state gazette lists the conditions suited to MTS/Peon work as one arm, one leg, partially deaf and partially blind. The reserved seat itself is only for category (c). The board says all seat counts are provisional and may change.

Class 10 or ITI, and age 18 to 35 on 23 November 2026

Every post code asks for the same thing: “Class X pass / ITI or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or Institution.” You must hold it on 23 November 2026. The notice says nothing about students waiting for results, and it does not bar higher degrees.

The age limit is 18 to 35 years on 23 November 2026. The relaxation table in para 5 reads:

  • APST: up to 5 years.
  • PwBD: up to 15 years.
  • Serving departmental staff with 3 unbroken years of service: 5 extra years on top of the normal relaxation, for Group C posts in the same or a related cadre.
  • Ex-servicemen: subtract your years of service from your age. If that figure is not more than 3 years over the upper limit, you meet the age rule.

Since every applicant must now be APST, it is unclear who gets the 5 extra years. If you are over 35, ask APSSB before you pay.

Pay Level 1: what the notice says about salary

Pay Level 1 is the entry level of the government pay matrix, the table that fixes pay for each grade. The notice prints it as “Level-1 (18000-56900)”, that is, Rs 18,000 to Rs 56,900. It says nothing about allowances such as DA (dearness allowance, a share of basic pay added for price rises). Your monthly in-hand amount will depend on those orders, so this page gives no figure for it.

How the 200-mark CSLE paper is scored

There is only one stage for all nine post codes: an objective test of multiple-choice questions. It lasts 2 hours.

Section Questions Marks
General Awareness 25 50
General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability 25 50
Arithmetical & Numerical Ability 25 50
Test of English Language and Comprehension 25 50
Total 100 200

Each question carries 2 marks. There is no negative marking, so a wrong answer costs nothing. You need at least 33% of the total, which is 66 out of 200. There is no separate pass mark for each section. The notice lists no interview, typing test or physical test. Shortlisted candidates then go to document verification.

The syllabus notification of 8 October 2026 covers CSLE and the other combined exams. General Awareness includes current events, history, polity, geography, economics, everyday science and sports, and state-specific questions may be asked. Arithmetic covers topics such as percentage, ratio, profit and loss, interest, time and work, and mensuration (area and volume). English covers error spotting, fill in the blanks, synonyms, idioms, voice, narration and comprehension.

Rs 200 fee gone, subject pass mark gone: CSLE 2025 against 2026

Set beside Advertisement No. 04/25 of 16 July 2025, four changes stand out.

  1. Eligibility: on residence, the 2025 eligibility section said only “The candidate must be a citizen of India.” Its document list asked for the APST certificate and PRC only if applicable. In 2026 both are compulsory for everyone, and the tribal language rule is new.
  2. Fee: last year UR applicants paid Rs 200 while APST applicants paid Rs 150. This year everyone pays Rs 150.
  3. Pass mark: 2025 needed 33% in each subject. 2026 needs 33% of the total, with no subject-wise cut-off.
  4. Posts: 2025 also had constable and fireman posts with physical tests, plus Laboratory Attendant, Library Attendant and Manual Assistant posts. The 2026 list has MTS posts only, and none of them has a physical test.

Ranking 9 post codes, their offices and 3 exam centres in one go

In the form you rank the posts and the departments or offices you want. You can rank only the seats you are eligible for. Para 2(iv) says that “under no circumstance” will candidates be allowed to change their order of preference. The merit list is drawn up by the order you give. Think about where each office is before you rank it. For example, six of the 93 seats are in DC Bichom offices.

You also choose 3 exam centres in order of priority. The 12 centres are Aalo, Bomdila, Changlang, Itanagar Capital Region, Khonsa, Namsai, Papum Pare, Pasighat, Seppa, Tawang, Tezu and Ziro. APSSB will not accept any request to change your centre later. The board itself may cancel a centre or move candidates to another one.

Photo sizes, category claims and the Rs 150 fee in the CSLE form

  1. Go to the APSSB website at apssb.nic.in after 3 PM on 9 November 2026. Paper forms are not accepted.
  2. Enter your details exactly as they appear on your photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, driving licence, PAN or another government photo ID). Your name and father’s name must match the admit card. Bring the same ID in original, with the admit card, to the test. Without the admit card you will not be allowed in.
  3. Photo: recent, passport size, 50 to 100 KB. Signature: black pen on white paper, scanned at 10 to 50 KB. Save each as JPG, JPEG or PNG.
  4. Claim every category you hold, such as PwBD or ex-serviceman. Para 10 says the board will not consider a certificate that is not claimed in the form.
  5. Pay the Rs 150 fee online. It is not refundable. Persons with disabilities (PwD or PwBD) pay nothing.
  6. Finish before 3 PM on 23 November 2026. Send one form per post; if you send another, only the latest is kept.

Candidates who need a scribe (a writer) must opt for it in the form. This covers PwBD candidates (some need a medical certificate) and, with a certificate, PwD candidates below 40% who have difficulty writing. Those eligible for a scribe get 20 extra minutes for each hour of the test, even if they do not use one. Admit cards will be on the APSSB website only. None are sent by post.

Nine items on the APSSB CSLE DV list

When APSSB asks, shortlisted candidates scan and upload these papers. On the DV day, carry the originals and a self-attested photocopy of each:

  • two passport-size photos;
  • Class 10 or ITI certificate and mark sheet;
  • APST certificate;
  • PRC;
  • PwBD certificate, if you claim it;
  • for regular government employees, the intimation letter or no-objection certificate (NOC) given to the head of department, as the notice words it;
  • discharge book and Pay and Pension Order (PPO), for ex-servicemen;
  • admit card and a printout of the online form;
  • any other document the board asks for.

Without the originals on that day your candidature will be rejected, and a missing paper cannot be brought in later.

Language test, APST age relief and DV numbers: what APSSB has not said

  • How the tribal language test will be held and when.
  • How the APST age relaxation applies when all candidates must be APST.
  • What counts as “relaxed standards” under Note 1.5.
  • A separate last date for the fee, or any correction window.
  • How many candidates will be called for DV.

Watch the APSSB notice board for later notices on these points.

JKSSB MTS, Supreme Court attendant and other Class 10 openings

Our Arunachal Pradesh government jobs page lists every open post in the state. Other state board exams are on the state commission and board jobs page. You can also see all jobs for Class 10 pass candidates and jobs for ITI holders. Similar entry-level posts outside Arunachal include JKSSB MTS and sanitation worker posts and Supreme Court Junior Court Attendant posts.

PRC, APST certificate and scans to ready before the APSSB form

  1. Check that your APST certificate and PRC are valid and in your current name.
  2. Scan your photo and signature to the sizes above.
  3. Decide your order of posts, offices and 3 exam centres, since none of them can be changed later.
