The AIIMS Bhopal Junior Resident recruitment 2026 is a walk-in for 20 Junior Resident (Non-Academic) posts on contract. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal issued it as Advt. No. AIIMS, Bhopal/JR (Non-Acad.)/2026/10 on 27 October 2026. The walk-in interview is on 19 November 2026 at AIIMS Bhopal, with reporting at 9:00 AM. You need an MBBS degree, an internship completed within 5 years of the interview date, and valid NMC or State Medical Council registration. The upper age limit is 33 years on the interview date. The posts are contractual, for 6 months at a time, and pay Rs 56,100 (Level 10) plus allowances.
Nine UR posts lead the AIIMS Bhopal Junior Resident recruitment 2026 list
The notice calls these contractual posts (page 1).
| Category | Posts (page 1) |
|---|---|
| Unreserved (UR) | 9 |
| Other Backward Classes (OBC) | 4 |
| Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) | 3 |
| Scheduled Castes (SC) | 2 |
| Scheduled Tribes (ST) | 2 |
| Total | 20 |
The 20 posts include one for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), given as per Government of India norms. Page 2 adds that 4% of the vacancies are reserved horizontally for PwBD candidates. AIIMS Bhopal can change the number of posts, fill fewer, or cancel the advertisement (page 3).
Internship within 5 years of 19 November 2026, and council registration
Page 1 lists three essential qualifications:
- An MBBS degree recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or an Institute of National Importance. The notice words it as “MBBS in respective disciplines”.
- Internship completed within 5 years of the date of interview, which is 19 November 2026.
- Valid registration with the NMC or a State Medical Council.
Eligibility is judged on the date of interview (page 3). Page 3 also says candidates must have been declared passed in the qualifying degree exam and must complete their course tenure on or before the interview date. This wording differs from the internship rule on page 1, and the document list asks for an internship completion certificate. Foreign medical graduates must bring their FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) certificate, conducted by the NBE (National Board of Examinations) (page 4).
33 on 19 November, with extra years for OBC, SC, ST and PwBD doctors
The upper age limit is 33 years on the last date of submission of the application, which the notice defines as the date of interview, 19 November 2026 (page 2).
| Category | Extra years |
|---|---|
| OBC (Central List) | Up to 3 years |
| SC and ST | Up to 5 years |
| PwBD, General | 10 years |
| PwBD, OBC | 13 years |
| PwBD, SC and ST | 15 years |
OBC applicants need a central government format certificate with a non-creamy layer clause. EWS applicants need the EWS certificate in the given format. For both, a certificate issued between 1 April 2026 and the interview date is treated as valid (page 2). SC and ST applicants use the format in Annexure-I.
Six-month contract terms, with NPA on top of Rs 56,100
The pay is Rs 56,100, at Level-10, Cell No. 01 as per the 7th CPC (Central Pay Commission) (page 1). The notice adds “usual allowances including NPA as admissible under rule(s)” (page 1). NPA stands for Non-Practising Allowance. It does not give the allowance amounts or an in-hand figure, and we do not estimate one. Private practice of any kind is not allowed for those selected (page 4).
The first term is 6 months and can be extended by another 6 months. Page 2 says the Institute can allow terms beyond two in selected cases. The job is purely contractual and need-based (page 4). You may have to work in shifts and can be posted anywhere in the Institute.
A written test if more than 20 doctors turn up for the JR posts
Selection is by written test, interview or both, as the Institute decides (page 2). If more than 20 candidates come for a post, AIIMS Bhopal holds a written exam. The notice then says the top 15 on merit for each post are called for interview. It does not explain how 15 per post fits with 20 vacancies. The written marks only decide who reaches the interview. The final selection rests on the interview alone. If two candidates get the same interview marks, the older one ranks higher (page 3).
Report by 9:00 AM; candidates reporting after 10:00 AM on 19 November are not considered
The schedule table on page 1 gives reporting time as 9:00 AM and the interview from 10:30 AM onwards. The venue is the 4th Floor, Deanery, Kautilya Bhawan, AIIMS Bhopal. A note under the table says candidates who report after 10:00 AM will not be considered. AIIMS Bhopal pays no travel or daily allowance for attending (page 4).
The notice describes no online application. You bring the filled application form, downloaded from the AIIMS Bhopal website, to the interview (page 3).
Rs 1,000 draft to the AIIMS Bhopal Executive Director; women, SC, ST and PwBD pay nothing
The fee is paid by demand draft only, drawn in favour of “EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, AIIMS, Bhopal”, and brought to the interview (page 3). General, OBC and EWS candidates pay Rs 1,000. SC, ST, women and PwBD candidates are exempt. The fee is not refunded in any case, so check your eligibility before you get the draft made.
