JRHMS CHO Recruitment 2026 offers 1,038 contract posts of Community Health Officer (CHO) under the National Health Mission (NHM) in Jharkhand. The Jharkhand Rural Health Mission Society (JRHMS) takes applications online only. The form opened at 11:59 PM on 31 October 2026 and closes at 11:59 PM on 22 November 2026. You need a B.Sc. (Nursing) or Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) that included the Certificate Program in Community Health (CPCH). The pay is a fixed Rs 25,000 a month, plus a performance-based incentive of up to Rs 15,000 a month. The contract is for one year at a time.

JRHMS’s 3-page scanned notice, letter no. 2842 (MD): it carries Advt No. 05/2026/JRHMS-CHO-Integrated, a handwritten date of 27/10/26 and the Mission Director (NHM)’s signature. JRHMS lists it on its home page as “Notice Reg Recruitment of CHOs through NHM” (PDF). The same file sits on the Jharkhand Recruitment Portal. On 5 November 2026 both sites showed this notice for the CHO posts and no correction notice (corrigendum) or date extension.

JRHMS CHO Recruitment 2026: 1,038 backlog posts by category

JRHMS calls these “backlog vacant positions”. The split below is printed on pages 1 and 2 of the notice.

Category Posts
SC (Scheduled Castes) 288
ST (Scheduled Tribes) 280
UR (Unreserved) 253
EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) 104
BC-II (Backward Class II) 58
BC-I (Backward Class I) 55
Total 1038

OBC posts are split into BC-I and BC-II in Jharkhand. Reservation follows the policy and circulars of Jharkhand’s Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha. The number of posts may change as needed. JRHMS can cancel any or all posts at any stage.

B.Sc. Nursing with CPCH: the qualification JRHMS asks for in the CHO notice

The notice words the qualification like this (pages 1 and 2):

“B.Sc. (Nursing)/ Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) with integrated Curriculum of certificate program in Community Health (CPCH) from any recognized Nursing colleges that have integrated curriculum and passed in or after academic year 2016-2020.”

In plain words, you need a nursing degree whose course included CPCH. Two points on this:

  • A nursing degree alone is not enough. Your course must have had the CPCH certificate program built into it.
  • The passing-year phrase “in or after academic year 2016-2020” is printed as it is. If your batch falls near that range, ask JRHMS how it reads the phrase before you apply.

The qualification, age and experience are all counted on 22 November 2026, the last date (page 3). The upload list asks for “Registration Certificate (if applicable/ required)”. The notice does not say in words that nursing council registration is compulsory.

CHO age limits on 22 November 2026, as printed by JRHMS

The age table on page 2 gives one figure for each category. A second column covers persons with disability, called PH (Physically Handicapped) in the notice. The limits follow the Government of Jharkhand’s Circular No. 03 dated 02.01.2026 (page 3).

Category Age (years) “Age relaxation (Years)” column for PH candidates
General 35 45
EWS 35 45
OBC (BC-I and BC-II) 37 47
Female, Unreserved 38 48
SC and ST 40 50

The notice heads the PH column “age relaxation”, but its figures read like full age limits. All the figures appear to work as upper limits, though the notice does not use the word “maximum”. No minimum age is printed. Your Class 10 certificate or mark sheet, or another government document, works as age proof.

Rs 25,000 fixed pay and a one-year JRHMS contract

A selected CHO gets fixed pay (remuneration) of Rs 25,000 a month. On top of that, the notice allows a performance-based incentive of up to Rs 15,000 a month under the relevant guidelines (page 2). Nothing in the notice says how the incentive is worked out. So Rs 15,000 is the most you can get, not a promised amount.

Page 2 sets out the contract rules:

  • The first contract is for one year. It can be renewed if your work is satisfactory and the post is still needed.
  • Either side can end the agreement with one month’s notice.
  • You cannot later claim a permanent (regular) government post on the basis of this contract.

Uploads for the CHO form on recruitment.jharkhand.gov.in

You apply on the Jharkhand Recruitment Portal. It uses one-time registration. You register as a new user and get a user ID and password. Then you fill your personal, education and experience details, upload documents, apply and pay. Keep these files ready (page 3):

  • A recent photograph and your signature.
  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and certificates.
  • All documents for the nursing qualification. The notice asks for the complete set.
  • Experience documents, if any. If you work somewhere now, upload your appointment letter and the salary certificate or bank statement for the last three months.
  • A caste certificate if you claim a reserved category, and a PH certificate if it applies.
  • A registration certificate if the form asks for it, and any other document the online form marks as needed.

Fill every field marked with an asterisk (*). Check that your status shows “Submitted Successfully”. JRHMS treats a half-filled form as incomplete and rejects it. A form without a photo, signature or the needed documents is also rejected. No change is allowed after you submit, so check every entry first.

No fee amount, selection method or posting place in Advt 05/2026

Several things a candidate would want to know are missing from the three pages:

  • Fee: point 4.7 asks you to make sure the “application fee is paid”, but no amount is printed. The portal’s general steps end with payment.
  • Selection method: there is no word on a written test, merit list, skill test or interview.
  • Residence rule: the notice does not say whether only Jharkhand residents can apply.
  • Posting: there is no word on where CHOs will be posted.
  • Advertisement year: page 1 prints Advt No. 05/2026, while page 2 prints 05/2025 with the same letter no. 2842 (MD).

Page 3 points to separate “Instructions for filling online application form”. On 5 November 2026 that file was not listed on the JRHMS home page or the portal’s home page. For questions, JRHMS gives the phone numbers 0651-2261000, 2261856 and 2261002, and the e-mail hrdjhrms@gmail.com.

CPCH proof, early portal sign-up and a recheck before 22 November

  1. Check that your nursing course included CPCH, and keep the proof ready.
  2. Register on the portal early, so you can see the fee and any instructions before the last day.
  3. Call or e-mail JRHMS to confirm the fee, the selection method and the advertisement year (05/2026 or 05/2025) before you apply.
  4. Recheck the JRHMS home page for any correction notice before you submit.
