IIITM Gwalior Recruitment 2026: 6 Junior Assistant and 7 Junior Technician posts at Level 3
ABV-IIITM Gwalior is an Institute of National Importance set up by the Ministry of Education. It is on Morena Link Road in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. These are direct recruitment posts in its administrative and technical staff.
| Post | Posts | Category split | Pay Level (7th CPC) | Upper age |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Junior Assistant | 6 | UR 3, EWS 1, OBC 1, SC 1 | Level 3 | 27 years |
| Junior Technician | 7 | UR 4, OBC 2, ST 1 | Level 3 | 27 years |
The 7th CPC pay level is the slot in the central pay matrix set by the 7th Pay Commission. The notice gives only the level, not a rupee figure, and we have not estimated one.
The institute says it wants an all-India workforce and invites candidates from across the country. Reservation for persons with disabilities (PwD) follows central government rules. It covers those with at least 40% disability in the categories the notice names (a, b, d and e, under the DoPT order of 15 January 2018).
Junior Assistant: a degree, and the desirable skills that may decide the shortlist
The essential qualification in the table is a bachelor’s degree with knowledge of computer operation. The table then lists these as “desirable”:
- 2 years’ experience in administration, accounts and audit, academics, or store and purchase. It should be in a centrally funded institute, a central or state government body, a government university or a similar body.
- Or a polytechnic diploma in Modern Office Management with 1 year of government work.
- Or an ITI in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, or Stenographer and Secretarial Assistant (or Secretarial Practice), with 2 years of government work.
- fluent Hindi and English typing, with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation skills;
- excellent noting and drafting skills in Hindi and English.
Item 2 of the general instructions asks applicants to make sure they have the “desirable & the minimum essential qualifications” before applying. Note 2 under the table says the shortlisting criteria may be higher than the minimum essential qualification. Item 16 also lets the institute set higher norms to limit the number of candidates. It does not say whether a graduate without the desirable experience will be shortlisted.
IIITM Junior Technician: diploma with 1 year or ITI with 2 years
Here, work experience is part of the essential qualification. You need one of these:
- a diploma in Computer Science, IT, Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Instrumentation or a related field, plus 1 year of working experience in a government organisation; or
- an ITI in a relevant trade (Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Electrical or Instrumentation), plus 2 years’ experience.
The desirable points are 2 years of handling such labs in a centrally funded institute or government body, or a B.Sc. or BCA (IT, Computer Science or Physics) with 2 years of hands-on lab experience there. Proficiency in computer operation and relevant lab software is listed too, worded as “are required”.
The notice says experience should be “in regular scale in reputed organization”. Experience certificates should show this.
Age of 27 counted on 25 November 2026
Your age, qualification and experience are all counted on 25 November 2026, the last date of the online form. The upper age limit for both posts is 27 years. The notice does not state a minimum age.
Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, PwD, EWS and ex-servicemen candidates is “as per Govt. of India norms”. The notice does not print the number of years. People already working at ABV-IIITM Gwalior as regular, contract or outsourced staff also get a relaxation in the upper age limit. It is given as approved by the institute’s Board of Governors, without any other relaxation.
Two-part IIITM written test, then a skill or trade test
All candidates take Part-A of the written test, which has multiple-choice questions (MCQs), in one sitting. The notice then says that, post-wise, “7 candidates for the first post and subsequently 5 candidates for the vacant post(s)” will be called, based on Part-A scores. They take Part-B (descriptive questions) and a skill or trade test. Item 12 also mentions a computer proficiency test.
Item 30 says the selection process will be notified later, and the shortlist will be put on the institute website, with no letters sent. No travel allowance is paid. A selected candidate can be placed in any department of the institute.
IIITM fee of Rs 1,000, halved for SC, ST and PwD, by transfer or draft
The application fee is Rs 1,000, or Rs 500 for SC, ST and PwD candidates. It is not refundable. You pay it in one of two ways:
- an online transfer to the institute’s current account in the name of “Director ABVIIITM Gwalior” (the account number and IFSC code are printed in the advertisement); or
- a demand draft in favour of “Director, ABV-IIITM Gwalior”, payable at Gwalior.
Attach the proof and details of your payment with the application. An application without the fee is rejected. Use only the account details printed in the official PDF.
