RRC NWR Apprentice 2026 is the 2026-27 intake of Act Apprentices for North Western Railway, under Notice No. 04/2026 (NWR/AA). The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) at Jaipur runs it for eight North Western Railway units based at Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur and Jodhpur. The online form runs from 23 October to 22 November 2026 (until 11:59 PM). There is no written test. Selection is on the average of your Class 10 and ITI marks. You need Class 10 with at least 50% marks and an NCVT or SCVT trade certificate. On 22 November 2026 you must be at least 15 and not yet 24.

Three RRC Jaipur PDFs, side by side: the revised detailed notification for Notice No. 04/2026 (NWR/AA), dated 21.10.2026, which has 25 pages including the certificate formats. We compared it with the first notification of 30.09.2026, put online on 1 October. We also read the Hindi notice No. 740E dated 07-10-2026, which stopped the form from opening on 7 October. All three are on the RRC Jaipur notice page, under “Apprentice (04/2026)”. On 5 November 2026, that page still showed the revised notification of 21 October and the form link of 23 October as its newest items for 04/2026. There was no corrigendum, and the revised PDF was unchanged.

Why the RRC NWR Apprentice 2026 form opened on 23 October, not 7 October

This notice did not open on time. The first notification said the form would run from 7 October to 6 November 2026. On 7 October, RRC Jaipur said in a Hindi notice that the form would not open that day, for unavoidable administrative reasons (our translation). The revised notification of 21 October then set new dates. Its Hindi cover note says the requisition was partly amended, and that the notification of 30.09.2026 is to be treated as cancelled.

Item First notification (30.09.2026) Revised notification (21.10.2026)
Online form opens 7 October 2026 23 October 2026
Online form closes 6 November 2026, 11:59 PM 22 November 2026, 11:59 PM
Date for counting age 6 November 2026 22 November 2026

The trade tables were also redrawn. The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) office at Jodhpur went from 134 slots to 445. DRM Ajmer and Bikaner dropped some trades and added others. DRM Jaipur added an engineering department section and cut some trades, such as Electronics Mechanic (from 127 slots to 45). If you saw a trade list in early October, check it again against the 21 October PDF.

2,008 slots on page 2, but the unit tables add up to 2,234

Page 2 of the revised notification says apprentices will be engaged “against 2008 slots”. The first notification gave the same figure. But the unit-wise tables in the same PDF print these totals. UR means unreserved.

Unit (choose only one) Slots in the unit table UR / OBC / SC / ST / EWS
DRM Office, Ajmer 488 206 / 131 / 73 / 36 / 42
DRM Office, Bikaner 482 199 / 131 / 70 / 38 / 44
DRM Office, Jaipur 549 230 / 148 / 81 / 39 / 51
DRM Office, Jodhpur 445 181 / 123 / 64 / 31 / 46
B.T.C. Carriage, Ajmer (two tables: 73 and 28) 101 42 / 27 / 16 / 7 / 9
B.T.C. Loco, Ajmer 69 29 / 18 / 10 / 5 / 7
Carriage Workshop, Bikaner 33 14 / 9 / 5 / 2 / 3
Carriage Workshop, Jodhpur 67 33 / 18 / 9 / 5 / 2
Total 2,234 934 / 605 / 328 / 163 / 204

The 2,008 figure matches the total of the tables in the first notification of 30 September. It looks like page 2 was not updated when the tables changed, but the notice does not say so. It also says the slot numbers are provisional and may go up or down. Seats for persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen sit inside these totals, not on top of them.

The largest single rows are Fitter (Mechanical) at DRM Jaipur with 186 slots, Fitter (Mechanical) at DRM Bikaner with 134, and Welder at DRM Ajmer with 125. Many small rows have just one or two slots, and some trades have none in a unit.

Pick one of the eight NWR units under Notice 04/2026 that has your ITI trade

You can apply for only one unit. The notice warns that if you pick a unit with no slot for your ITI trade, your form “may eventually become meaningless”. You cannot change the unit after the final submission, and more than one form from the same person gets every form rejected.

  • Fitters, welders and electricians have slots in almost every unit.
  • Smaller trades such as Steno (English or Hindi), Dental Laboratory Technician, Draughtsman and Forger and Heat Treater appear only in the DRM Jodhpur table.
  • Engineering department trades such as Mason and Plumber appear in the DRM Bikaner and DRM Jaipur tables.

Open the unit tables on pages 4 to 8 of the revised PDF before you fill the form. After selection, RRC will not move you to another division, unit or trade.

Class 10 at 50% plus an NCVT or SCVT certificate

You must have passed Class 10 (or its equivalent under the 10+2 system) with at least 50% marks in aggregate. RRC says “No Rounding off will be done”, so 49.9% does not count as 50%. You also need a trade certificate in the notified trade from the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or a State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT).

You must hold both results on the day you submit the form. Those still waiting for final exam results should not apply.

How RRC NWR ranks apprentices: an average of two percentages

There is no exam or interview in this notice. RRC makes a merit list from the simple average of two figures: your Class 10 percentage and your ITI percentage. For Class 10, marks in all subjects count, not a group of subjects. For ITI, the marks on your provisional or final certificate count.

As an example of how a simple average works, 70% in Class 10 and 86% in ITI give 78. If two candidates tie, the older one goes first. If the date of birth is also the same, the one who passed Class 10 earlier goes first.

The merit list is made separately for each unit, trade and category. There is no single list for the whole zone. Shortlisted candidates then go to document verification and a medical check in the unit they chose.

At least 15 and not yet 24 on 22 November 2026, with SC, ST, OBC and disability relaxations

You must have completed 15 years and must not have completed 24 years on 22 November 2026. The upper limit is relaxed as follows:

  • SC and ST: 5 years.
  • OBC: 3 years.
  • Persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD, a disability of at least 40% as defined in the notice): 10 years.
  • Ex-servicemen: up to 10 more years, to the extent of defence service plus 3 years, if they served at least 6 months at a stretch. This does not apply to ex-servicemen who already joined a civil government job using that status.

OBC candidates need a Non-Creamy Layer certificate in the central government format issued on or after 1 April 2026. SC and ST candidates use the format in Annexure-I.

Women, SC, ST and benchmark-disability candidates apply free; others pay Rs 100

The fee is Rs 100 and is not refunded. Women, SC, ST and candidates with benchmark disabilities pay nothing. You pay online through the payment gateway after the form is complete. You cannot edit the form after paying.

If money leaves your account but the form does not download, use the “Verify Payment” button on the RRC site before trying to pay again.

Your name must match the Class 10 certificate, and the NWR photo must be under 70 KB

  • Photo: colour, 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm, not older than three months, JPG or JPEG, 100 DPI, file size 20 KB to 70 KB. Show your face clearly, with no cap or sunglasses. Keep two extra prints for document verification.
  • Signature: 3.5 cm x 2.5 cm, JPG or JPEG, 100 DPI, file size 20 KB to 30 KB.
  • Aadhaar: you need your 12-digit Aadhaar number to register.
  • Name and date of birth: your name, father’s name and date of birth must match your Class 10 certificate exactly. The notice says any mismatch found at document verification “will lead to cancellation of candidature and also debarment”.

Register for NWR Notice 04/2026 on rrcactapp.in with Aadhaar, then pay and print

  1. Open the RRC Jaipur notice page and read the revised notification of 21 October under “Apprentice (04/2026)”.
  2. Check the unit tables and choose one unit that has slots for your trade and category.
  3. Open the “Apprentice (04/2026)” list on the same page and use the online application link of 23 October (it opens rrcactapp.in). Register with your Aadhaar number, an active mobile number and an email ID you check.
  4. Fill in your Class 10 and ITI marks exactly as on your mark sheets, then upload the photo and signature.
  5. Pay Rs 100 if you are not exempt, and print the e-receipt.
  6. Download and keep the printout of the form. Do not post anything to RRC.

The notice says a helpline number would be on the RRC website from 23 October 2026, from 10 AM to 5 PM, except Sundays and holidays. We could not find that number printed in the notice itself. Because the notice gives two slot totals, check your unit and trade row on the RRC site, and ask the helpline there if the table for your trade looks unclear.

No stipend figure, no hostel and no job promise in NWR Notice 04/2026

The notice does not print the stipend or the training period. It says both follow the current Railway Board rules. It also says:

  • No hostel is provided, so you must arrange your own stay during training.
  • You (or your guardian, if you are a minor) sign a contract of apprenticeship before training starts.
  • You need a medical certificate in the Annexure-IV format, signed by a gazetted government doctor not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon, at document verification.
  • No travel or daily allowance is paid for document verification.
  • Training does not give any right to a railway job later. The railway is not bound to offer you a job, and you are not bound to take one.

For more openings, see Rajasthan government jobs, railway jobs and RRB notices and jobs for ITI pass candidates. If you also passed Class 12, the RRB NTPC Under Graduate 2026 posts have a form that closes on 13 November 2026.
