Haryana’s 10th-pass job seekers have one day left for something that will control every Group D government job in the state for the next three years. HSSC CET Group D 2026 registration closes tomorrow, 3 July 2026, at 11:59 PM. This isn’t a normal vacancy form, and understanding what it actually is can save you from either missing it or paying for it twice.

Latest status (as on 2 July 2026). HSSC published Advertisement No. 05/2026 on 18 June 2026 for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for Group D posts. Registration runs 19 June to 3 July 2026 (11:59 PM), fee payment till 6 July, and a correction window from 7 to 9 July. No extension notice exists on hssc.gov.in as of today. Details below are verified from the official 99-page advertisement PDF.

What CET Group D Actually Is (a Ticket, Not a Vacancy)

This advertisement carries zero vacancies. Its own clause 2.1 says Group D post details “will be published separately”. What you are registering for is the Common Eligibility Test: a single exam whose score becomes your master key. When Haryana departments later send their Group D requirements, HSSC advertises the actual posts, and only CET-qualified candidates can express willingness using their registration number.

Here’s what makes this CET unusually powerful: under the amended Group D law, your CET score is 100% of the selection. There is no second written exam, no skill test, no interview for Group D. The score stays valid for 3 years from result declaration. Miss this registration, and you are locked out of every Group D recruitment that runs on this cycle.

The fee grid depends on who and where you are. Standard rate ₹1,000. Haryana residents with Parivar Pehchan Patra or Aadhaar: general-category men ₹500; women and SC/BC/EWS/PwBD/ex-servicemen ₹250. Non-Haryana applicants with Aadhaar: ₹500 flat. And the exemption that matters most: if you registered and paid for CET Group C (Advt 1/2025), you pay nothing now. One CET fee covers one appearance each in Group C and Group D tests.

Check If the 10th-Pass Rule Covers You

  • Education: Matriculation (10th) from a recognised board with Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects. A missing Hindi/Sanskrit subject is an explicitly listed rejection ground; Hindi studied at a higher level also satisfies the rule. (Only sweeper/chowkidar-type below-matric posts sit outside the CET system.)
  • Appearing in 10th this year? If you’ve reached the minimum age, the CET policy lets you sit the test even when your matric exam falls due the same year. A July 2025 amendment went further and removed the old clause that stopped such candidates from applying against posts after qualifying.
  • Age: 18 to 42 as on 3 July 2026. Relaxations: +5 for SC/BC, unmarried women, and widowed/divorced/judicially separated women; +10 for PwBD (+5 more if also SC/BC/EWS); ex-servicemen get service length + 3 years and are the one category exempt from the ceiling. Everyone else caps at 52.
  • Non-Haryana candidates can register (at the ₹500 Aadhaar rate); Haryana-specific reservation applies to Haryana categories.

Inside the Paper: 100 Questions and One Costly Bubble

The CET is a single offline OMR paper: 100 questions, 100 marks, 1 hour 45 minutes, bilingual (Hindi and English), pitched at matric level. Weightage: 75% general (general awareness, reasoning, maths, English, Hindi) and 25% Haryana-specific (history, geography, culture, current affairs).

Now the rule to memorise: a wrong answer costs nothing, but an unattempted question without its fifth bubble filled costs minus one full mark. Every question has a fifth circle meaning “not attempted”. Skip a question and forget the bubble, and you lose more than a wrong guess would have cost. Qualifying marks: 50% general, 40% all reserved categories.

One thing this advertisement confirms by omission: the old 5-mark socio-economic bonus is gone. The word does not appear anywhere in the 99-page PDF; the bonus was struck down by the Punjab & Haryana High Court in 2024 and the Supreme Court refused to revive it.

Already in the CET System? Read This Before Paying

  • Registered for CET 2022 or CET Group C 2025? Use the same registration number. Fresh registrations by existing holders are the kind of duplication that gets applications rejected.
  • Paid for CET Group C (Advt 1/2025)? No fee now. The system should recognise your payment; don’t pay twice.
  • Qualified the previous Group D CET (result of 12 January 2024)? You don’t need to re-appear. Your qualification runs till 11 January 2027, and your marks (rescaled out of 95 after the socio-economic marks were removed) merge into the merit list with new candidates. You may re-appear to improve: fresh fee, and your higher score counts with fresh validity.

Register in 5 Steps

  1. Go to onetimeregn.haryana.gov.in (HSSC’s one-time registration portal; the hssc.gov.in homepage links straight to it).
  2. Complete or reuse your One Time Registration: Haryana residents verify via Parivar Pehchan Patra, others via Aadhaar.
  3. Fill the CET Group D application against Advt 05/2026 and upload the asked documents.
  4. Pay your slab’s fee online by 6 July (nothing if your Group C 2025 payment covers you).
  5. Save the confirmation. Corrections, if needed, only between 7 and 9 July.

Final Word

For a 10th-pass candidate in Haryana, skipping this registration means sitting out every Group D government job for up to three years, and the entry cost is as low as ₹250. The exam date isn’t out yet, so registering now costs you nothing in preparation pressure. If the deadline math is tight tonight, remember the fee window runs three days longer than the form: submit the form first, pay by 6 July.

Neighbouring states are hiring too: the RPSC RAS 2026 (607 posts) also closes 3 July, and our Haryana page will carry every verified opening we add from the state.

Quick FAQs

What is the last date for HSSC CET Group D 2026 registration?

3 July 2026 at 11:59 PM for the form. Fee payment is open till 6 July, and corrections from 7 to 9 July.

How many vacancies are in HSSC CET Group D 2026?

None in this advertisement. It registers you for the Common Eligibility Test; actual Group D posts will be advertised separately, and only CET-qualified candidates can apply for them. Treat any vacancy count you see elsewhere as speculation.

Is there negative marking in the Haryana CET Group D exam?

Wrong answers cost nothing. But every question has a fifth “not attempted” bubble, and leaving a question with no bubble filled costs one full mark.

I qualified the previous Group D CET in January 2024. Do I need to appear again?

No. Your qualification is valid till 11 January 2027 and your rescaled marks join the merit list. You may re-appear to improve your score with a fresh fee.

What is the qualification for CET Group D?

10th pass from a recognised board with Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects (Hindi at a higher level also works). Age 18 to 42 with relaxations up to 52.

When is the HSSC CET Group D exam?

Not announced. The advertisement says the exam date and admit-card date will be communicated separately; the score, once declared, stays valid for 3 years.
