116 Posts, But 54 Are for Freshers

The same 65% and 55% marks rule applies. This role also has a physical fitness test later, covering work-at-height, endurance and agility.
- Age: maximum 25 years as on 20 July 2026, with the usual relaxations (5 years for SC/ST, 3 for OBC-NC, and more for PwD).
Selection Is HPCL’s Own CBT, Not GATE
This is worth clearing up, because HPCL’s engineer entries sometimes use a GATE score. This one does not. Selection runs on HPCL’s own Computer Based Test, followed by stages that can include a group task, a psychometric assessment, a skill test and a personal interview, plus the physical fitness test for Fire and Safety and a pre-employment medical. The CBT has two parts: a general aptitude section (English, quantitative aptitude and logical reasoning) and a technical section based on your qualifying diploma or degree.
