UKSSSC Technician Grade-II Recruitment 2026 fills 78 posts in two Uttarakhand power companies. UKSSSC, the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission, announced them on 5 October 2026 in Advertisement No. 83/2026. Apply online at sssc.uk.gov.in between 12 October and 25 November 2026. You need Class 10 with Science and Maths. You also need an All India or State trade certificate in the right trade, and two years of work experience. The age limit is 18 to 42 on 1 July 2026. Selection is by one written exam, expected on 14 March 2027, though that date is not final.

Taken from the Commission’s PDF: Advt 83/2026 is a 15-page Hindi scan. Page 1 is a short notice, and pages 2 to 15 are the full advertisement, signed by the Commission’s Secretary. We opened it from the recruitment list on sssc.uk.gov.in. On 6 October 2026 that list had no change notice (corrigendum) and no new date for this advertisement.

Where the UKSSSC Technician Grade-II Recruitment 2026 posts are: 37 in PTCUL, 41 in UJVNL

All three are Group C posts, the junior, non-officer level. The notice calls them non-gazetted and permanent, with Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF, a retirement savings fund) cover.

Post Employer Posts Trade needed
Technician Grade-II (Electrical) Power Transmission Corporation of Uttarakhand Ltd (PTCUL) 37 Electrician
Technician Grade-II (Electrical) Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (UJVNL) 16 Electrician or Electronics
Technician Grade-II (Mechanical) UJVNL 25 Fitter
Total 78

Going by their names, PTCUL works on power transmission, and Jal Vidyut Nigam is Hindi for hydro power corporation. The two Electrical posts share a name but not the same rules, so read the trade column carefully.

What a Technician Grade-II earns: Rs 27,200 to Rs 86,100

All three posts carry the same pay scale, Rs 27,200 to Rs 86,100, at Level 4. A pay level is a step in the government pay table. Rs 27,200 is the lowest point of the scale.

The notice lists no allowances, so this page gives no in-hand figure.

Electrician, Electronics or Fitter ITI plus two years’ experience for PTCUL and UJVNL

Every post needs High School (Class 10) or an equal exam passed with Science and Maths, from a recognised board. On top of that:

  • PTCUL Electrical (37 posts): an All India or State trade certificate in the Electrician trade, plus two years of experience in related work. This post also asks for a thorough knowledge of the Devanagari script, the script used to write Hindi.
  • UJVNL Electrical (16 posts): an All India or State trade certificate in Electrician or Electronics, plus two years of experience in related work.
  • UJVNL Mechanical (25 posts): an All India or State trade certificate in Fitter, plus two years of experience in related work.

The notice uses only the words All India or State trade certificate. It does not name the issuing bodies. These are usually read as the national (NCVT) and state (SCVT) certificates given after ITI training. For the two UJVNL posts, the notice says the experience must come after the qualification. It does not use those words for the PTCUL post.

The experience certificate can come from any of these:

  • a government or semi-government body;
  • a limited or private limited company, or a registered private company;
  • a registered firm.

You must upload it with the form. Every required qualification must be in hand by 25 November 2026.

For Group C posts filled by UKSSSC, you must meet at least one of these three conditions:

  1. You are registered at an employment office in Uttarakhand by the last date of the form.
  2. You hold an Uttarakhand domicile (permanent residence) certificate.
  3. You cleared High School and Intermediate (Class 12), or equal exams, at recognised institutions in Uttarakhand.

The notice also lets some others apply. Its wording covers three groups, along with their spouses and children. The first is people serving in the armed and paramilitary forces. The second is regular staff of the state government and its government or semi-government bodies. The third is central government staff, and staff of central PSUs (government-owned companies), who work in Uttarakhand and cannot be transferred out of the state. So are permanent residents of Uttarakhand living outside the state for work or study, with their spouses and children. If you rely on this rule, read para 08 of the notice itself.

Anyone already working in Uttarakhand state service can skip employment office registration. So can ex-servicemen registered at a district sainik welfare office in Uttarakhand. Central or state government and PSU employees must tell their employer before applying. If asked at the document check, they must show a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer. People in other services outside Uttarakhand state service need such an NOC to register at an employment office.

Meeting one of these conditions does not bring reservation with it. The notice gives reserved seats only to candidates domiciled in Uttarakhand.

Born between 2 July 1984 and 1 July 2008, with extra years for some Uttarakhand groups

Age is counted on 1 July 2026, and both end dates are included. SC means Scheduled Caste, ST means Scheduled Tribe and OBC means Other Backward Class. The notice gives these upper age relaxations, each for Uttarakhand candidates:

  • SC, ST and OBC of Uttarakhand: 5 years;
  • persons with disabilities (divyang) of Uttarakhand: 10 years;
  • dependents of Uttarakhand freedom fighters: 5 years;
  • ex-servicemen of Uttarakhand: armed forces service is deducted from actual age, and the result may be up to 3 years above the limit.

Your name, father’s name and date of birth must match your High School certificate. No other document is accepted for date of birth.

46 unreserved seats, 15 for Uttarakhand women, none for disability

Post SC ST OBC EWS UR Total
PTCUL Electrical 1 3 2 6 25 37
UJVNL Electrical 2 2 3 1 8 16
UJVNL Mechanical 5 2 3 2 13 25
Total 8 7 8 9 46 78

EWS is Economically Weaker Section and UR is Unreserved.

Some seats are also kept for special groups. These are counted inside the category numbers above, not added on top:

  • Uttarakhand women: 15 seats in all (9 in PTCUL, 2 in UJVNL Electrical, 4 in UJVNL Mechanical);
  • identified state agitators or their dependents: 3 seats (2 in PTCUL, 1 in UJVNL Mechanical). These are people recognised for the movement for a separate Uttarakhand state. This quota is subject to a case in the Nainital High Court;
  • PTCUL only: 1 seat each for ex-servicemen, orphans and skilled sportspersons of Uttarakhand.

No seat in any of the three posts is marked for persons with disabilities. The numbers come from the employers’ requests, and the notice says they may still go up or down.

An EWS certificate must be issued between 1 April 2026 and 25 November 2026, on income for 2025-26. An OBC certificate is valid for three years from its issue, and it must be valid on 25 November 2026.

Qualification-based questions on a UKSSSC OMR sheet, with a quarter mark lost per wrong answer

There is a single written exam of 100 marks and 2 hours. All questions are multiple choice, and they relate to the qualification for the post. The exam is offline, on an OMR sheet (a sheet where you darken bubbles). The syllabus is in Annexure 1, which is not part of the 15-page PDF.

  • Each question has four options.
  • A wrong answer costs one-fourth of that question’s marks.
  • Marking more than one option counts as a wrong answer.
  • A question left blank costs nothing.
  • Using whitener on the OMR sheet, or scratching or cutting an answer, is not allowed and also costs marks.
  • If the roll number or booklet series is wrong or left out, the sheet is not checked and your application is cancelled.

You must score at least 45% if you are UR, EWS or OBC, and 35% if you are SC or ST. The OMR sheet comes in three copies. You hand in the first two and may keep the third, along with the question booklet. If you do not hand in the first two copies, your result becomes zero.

Rank is set by written marks alone. If two people score the same, the older one ranks higher. If they are the same age too, the order goes by the English alphabet. Posts and employers are then given out by merit and by the preference you give.

A document check follows the exam, and missing it cancels your application. After the exam, UKSSSC puts the answer key online. You can challenge a question for Rs 50 per question within the set time.

Live face photo, thumb impression and a fee of up to Rs 300

Category Fee
Unreserved and Uttarakhand OBC Rs 300
Uttarakhand SC, Uttarakhand ST and EWS Rs 150
Uttarakhand divyang Rs 150
Orphans Nil

The fee table names Uttarakhand SC and ST only. It gives no separate fee for SC or ST applicants from other states. Pay online by card, net banking or UPI. If the fee does not reach the Commission by the last date, the form is cancelled on its own. If a payment fails, the notice says the money will be refunded.

The notice shows five steps: registration and personal details, education and other details, photo and signature upload, payment, and printing the application.

  1. Registration: use your Aadhaar number. Each Aadhaar number works for one form only. Give your own mobile number and e-mail. If you have no mobile, a family member’s number is allowed.
  2. Education and other details: fill these in. Then upload your High School certificate, both sides of your Aadhaar card, your experience certificate and any category certificate.
  3. Photo and signature: your photo is taken live through the camera, and the system checks your face, so sit in good light. Upload your signature and left thumb impression, each 150 x 100 pixels in JPG or JPEG.
  4. Payment: pay the fee. The form counts only when its status shows “Completed”.
  5. Print: keep a printout of the form for later use.

Submit only one form. If you send more than one, all of them are cancelled. If you made a mistake, you can cancel your form and apply again before 25 November 2026. The fee of the cancelled form is not returned.

A one-time edit window runs from 28 November to 30 November 2026. You cannot change your name, your parents’ names, your age or your exam centre in it.

Syllabus still to come, a March 2027 exam date and the help line numbers

  • The syllabus in Annexure 1 is mentioned but not attached to the 15-page notice.
  • The exam date of 14 March 2027 is expected, not final. UKSSSC will announce the final date on its website and in newspapers.
  • No closing time is printed for 25 November 2026.

The help line in the notice is 9520991172 (toll free), with WhatsApp on 9520991174 and e-mail at chayanayog@gmail.com.
