Most central government notifications target one qualification level. This one covers them all. CCRUM, a research council under the Ministry of Ayush, has advertised 179 posts that range from 10th-pass Multi-Tasking Staff right up to postgraduate Research Officers, all in a single application cycle. It is a Unani-medicine research body, which sounds niche, but most of the seats are ordinary clerical, technical and support roles. Applications are open from 1 July to 31 July 2026.

Read from the official notification (verified 12 July 2026). Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Ayush, Vacancy Advertisement No. 01/2026. The post breakdown, qualifications, fees and selection process below are taken from the detailed official vacancy notice on ccrum.res.in.

CCRUM Recruitment 2026: The Essentials

These are regular government establishment posts on 7th Pay Commission levels, not contractual roles, which is a meaningful difference from the temporary hiring many research bodies do.

179 Posts From 10th-Pass to Postgraduate

The value of this notification is its spread. Here are the larger posts, which is where most applicants will look:

Post Vacancies Pay Level
Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) 43 Level 1
Upper Division Clerk (UDC) 31 Level 4
Lower Division Clerk (LDC) 26 Level 2
Medical Lab Technologist 12 Level 6
Staff Nurse 7 Level 7
Stenographer Grade-III 7 Level 4
Pharmacist 6 Level 5
Staff Car Driver 4 Level 2
Research Officer (Unani/Pathology/Physiology) 19 Level 10

The rest are spread across smaller technical and research roles such as Assistant Research Officer, Research Assistant, Investigator, Compounder, Radiographer, Social Worker, Library Assistant, Proof Reader and Hindi Assistant. The single biggest block is MTS with 43 seats, open to 10th-pass candidates, and the clerical UDC and LDC posts together add another 57.

Which Post Fits Your Qualification

Because the qualifications vary so widely, match yourself to the right post before applying:

  • 10th pass: MTS (10th or ITI), Staff Car Driver (with a valid licence and driving experience), Compounder and Stenographer Grade-III.
  • 12th pass: LDC (with a typing speed), and the diploma-based Pharmacist and Radiographer posts (12th science plus the relevant diploma).
  • Graduate: UDC, Accounts Officer, Library and Information Assistant, Proof Reader, Hindi Assistant and Social Worker.
  • Postgraduate: Assistant Research Officer, Research Assistant and Investigator (Statistics).
  • Specialised medical or science postgraduate: Research Officer (Unani) needs a PG degree (MD/MS) in Unani medicine, and Research Officer (Pathology) needs an MD in Pathology.

So while the research-officer posts are genuinely specialised, a 10th-pass, 12th-pass or ordinary graduate has real, non-niche posts to aim at here.

Fees Add Up If You Apply for Several Posts

The fee is charged per post, and it has two parts. Everyone pays a ₹500 processing fee that no one is exempt from. On top of that is an examination fee that depends on the group: ₹1,500 for Group A, ₹1,000 for Group B and ₹800 for Group C. SC, ST, PwD, EWS, women and ex-servicemen candidates are exempt from the examination fee and pay only the ₹500 processing fee. So a general-category candidate applying for a Group C post pays ₹1,300, while an exempt candidate pays ₹500. Because the fee repeats for each post, applying to several posts multiplies the cost, so choose deliberately.

How Selection Works: CBT, and Skill Tests Where Needed

Selection runs on a computer-based test (CBT), with the format depending on the group:

  • Group A (Research Officers): a CBT of 70 marks plus an interview of 30 marks.
  • Group B and Group C: a CBT of 100 marks, followed by a skill test only where the post needs one, such as typing for LDC, shorthand for Stenographer, and a driving test for Staff Car Driver. These skill tests are qualifying and do not add to your CBT score.

The CBT is bilingual, with negative marking of 0.25 per wrong answer, except for MTS, which has no negative marking. The qualifying cut-off is 30% for General, OBC, EWS and ex-servicemen, and 25% for SC, ST and PwD. Exam centres include Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Guwahati.

Age, Reservation and Key Dates

Upper age limits vary by post, from 25 for junior posts like MTS and Pharmacist up to 40 for the Group A Research Officers, and age is reckoned as on the closing date of 31 July 2026. Standard relaxations apply: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 for OBC-NCL, and larger relaxations for PwD and other special categories. The application window runs from 1 July to 31 July 2026, with a correction window from 3 to 5 August 2026 for fixing errors after submission.

How to Apply Online

  1. Go to ccrum.res.in and register, then complete your profile.
  2. Select the post you are eligible for and fill the application. Applications are accepted online only.
  3. Pay the fee for that post online (processing fee plus any exam fee). Remember the fee repeats for each post you apply to.
  4. Submit before 31 July 2026, and use the 3 to 5 August correction window if you need to fix a detail.

This joins the wider set of central and state jobs we track, and it sits under our healthcare and medical coverage for the nursing, pharmacist and technician roles.

Is This Worth Applying For?

If you are hunting a stable central government job and one of these posts matches your qualification, yes. The pay levels are regular 7th Pay Commission scales, the posts are permanent, and the sheer range means a 10th-pass, a graduate and a postgraduate can each find something to apply for in the same notification. The one thing to watch is the per-post fee, which rewards applying only where you genuinely qualify rather than casting wide. The deadline to act is 31 July 2026.
