HAL Lateral Entry Recruitment 2026: 30 Executive Posts for Experienced Professionals, Apply by 12 August
On this page
HAL is hiring 30 executives, and the number will draw a lot of applicants who cannot actually apply. This is a lateral-entry drive, which means every one of the 30 posts, including the 17 Finance Officer seats, needs post-qualification work experience. A fresh CA or a new engineering graduate is not eligible. If you are an experienced finance or design professional, though, HAL Lateral Entry Recruitment 2026 is a Maharatna opportunity, open until 12 August 2026.

Experienced Only: The Filter That Rules Out Freshers
Say it plainly, because the headline number is misleading. All three posts require post-qualification executive experience, counted only from the date you got your professional qualification and only for time served in an executive cadre:
- Finance Officer (17 posts): 2 years of experience.
- Deputy Manager, Finance (8 posts): 5 years.
- Manager, Design (5 posts): 8 years.
So even the most junior post, Finance Officer, needs a qualified CA or ICWA with two years of executive experience behind them. A newly qualified CA or CMA, or an engineering graduate without a master’s and years of work, does not meet the bar. These are external direct-recruitment vacancies, not open to internal HAL candidates.
The Three Posts and What They Need
| Post | Grade | Vacancies | Qualification | Experience |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Finance Officer | II | 17 | Bachelor’s degree plus CA or ICWA | 2 years |
| Deputy Manager (Finance) | III | 8 | Bachelor’s degree plus CA or ICWA | 5 years |
| Manager (Design) | IV | 5 | BE/BTech plus ME/MTech in the notified branch | 8 years |
Two qualification details the aggregators get wrong. For the finance posts, only a qualified CA or ICWA (CMA) is accepted; an MBA in Finance is not. For the design posts, you need both a bachelor’s and a master’s in engineering (ME or MTech), with a minimum aggregate of 70% for UR, OBC and EWS candidates and 60% for SC, ST and PwBD in both degrees. The five design vacancies are Electrical 3, Mechanical 1 and Electronics 1.
Pay, Bond and How Selection Works
The three grades carry IDA pay scales of ₹50,000 to ₹1,60,000 (Finance Officer), ₹60,000 to ₹1,80,000 (Deputy Manager) and ₹70,000 to ₹2,00,000 (Manager), plus a 35% cafeteria allowance, performance-related pay, provident fund and gratuity. Two commitments to weigh: a service bond of ₹5,00,000 for three years, and no transfer for the first three years of service, with posting liable to be anywhere in India.
Selection is a personal interview only; there is no written test. Candidates are shortlisted at up to ten times the vacancies on minimum eligibility, and where applicants exceed that, more relevant experience, then higher qualifying marks, then age break the tie. Meeting the eligibility does not guarantee a shortlist.
Age, Fee and How to Apply
- Age as on 12 August 2026: up to 35 for Finance Officer and 45 for Deputy Manager and Manager, for UR and EWS, with 5 years added for SC/ST, 3 for OBC-NCL and 10 for PwBD, capped at 55 (or 56 for PwBD).
- Fee: ₹500 including GST for General, OBC and EWS candidates, and nil for SC, ST and PwBD. Note that EWS candidates do pay the ₹500.
- How to apply: online through HAL’s recruitment portal, reached via the Careers section of hal-india.co.in, with the fee paid online before the 12 August cutoff. Keep your experience certificates ready, and if you are employed in a government or PSU body, a no-objection certificate is needed at verification.

Who Should Apply for HAL Lateral Entry 2026?
This is for a specific, experienced audience: qualified CAs and cost accountants with a few years in an executive finance role, and engineering post-graduates with eight years in design. For them it is a strong move, an executive grade at a Maharatna defence PSU with a ₹70,000-plus basic at the manager level. For everyone else, including fresh CAs and graduates, this recruitment is simply not open despite the 30 posts, and the honest advice is to save the fee. The window closes on 12 August.
