APTET June 2026 Notification: Apply by 5 July at cse.ap.gov.in
On this page
The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department has opened registration for the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) June 2026, the state’s compulsory qualifying exam for anyone hoping to teach as an SGT or School Assistant in AP government, aided and recognised private schools. If you hold or are still pursuing a D.El.Ed or B.Ed and want to teach in Andhra Pradesh, this is the first gate to clear. One point up front: APTET carries no vacancy number and no appointment letter. It’s a certification, not a recruitment drive, so there’s no fixed count of seats. Applications on cse.ap.gov.in stay open until 5 July 2026, just two days away.

D.El.Ed or B.Ed: Who Can Register for APTET June 2026
The papers map to the classes you want to teach. Paper 1 is for primary classes, Classes I to V, and usually fits D.El.Ed holders. Paper 2 covers upper-primary, Classes VI to VIII, and typically fits B.Ed holders. Within each level there’s an A version and a B version: the A papers (1A and 2A) are for general schools, while the B papers (1B and 2B) are for special schools. So a primary teacher heading for a special school sits Paper 1B, not Paper 1A, and an upper-primary special-school teacher sits Paper 2B. Anyone holding or pursuing a D.El.Ed, a B.Ed, or an equivalent recognised qualification can apply, and those eligible for both levels can sit both papers.
The notification lists the exact qualifications, recognised equivalents, and rules for final-year students. Check them against your own certificates before paying.
Why APTET Charges Rs.1000 for Every Paper You Attempt
The fee is Rs.1000, and the words that matter are “per paper.” You pay it separately for each paper you register for. So someone holding both a D.El.Ed and a B.Ed who wants both levels pays Rs.1000 for Paper 1 and another Rs.1000 for Paper 2, or Rs.2000 in all.
That Rs.2000 assumes the two general papers, 1A and 2A. If you also want the special-school papers, 1B and 2B, to cover Classes I to VIII in special schools too, you’d register for all four papers and pay Rs.1000 four times, or Rs.4000 at the top end. A little planning saves money: decide which levels and school types you intend to teach before you pay. For primary alone, one paper at Rs.1000 is enough; for both levels, budget for two. The brief states no fee concession, so treat Rs.1000 per paper as your figure unless the bulletin says otherwise.
Inside the APTET Computer Based Test (5 to 21 August 2026)
APTET June 2026 is a Computer Based Test, held across Andhra Pradesh from 5 to 21 August 2026 in multiple shifts. Your exact date, shift, and centre appear on the hall ticket nearer the exam.
Each paper is scored out of 150 marks, and the qualifying bar is set by category: 90 marks (60%) for OC and EWS candidates, 75 marks (50%) for BC candidates, and 60 marks (40%) for SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates. It’s a qualifying test: clear your category’s mark and you earn an eligibility certificate for the actual hiring.
Registering at cse.ap.gov.in Step by Step Before 5 July
Registration is fully online. Open cse.ap.gov.in, click the APTET June 2026 link, and read the Information Bulletin first. Fill the form, upload the documents and photo as specified, and pay Rs.1000 for each paper. Submit and save the confirmation before the window shuts on 5 July 2026.
One safety reminder worth repeating: apply only on the official website, cse.ap.gov.in. A genuine government recruiter never charges an unofficial fee, never asks for money through a private UPI number, and never promises a certificate or posting for cash. The only payment is the Rs.1000 per paper through the official portal. If you’re unsure which exams match your background, our job finder tool can shortlist the right ones.
APTET Clears You for the TRT, It Doesn’t Hire You
Here’s the part a plain listing skips. APTET is an eligibility certification under RTE-2009 and NCTE norms, not a job order. Clearing it doesn’t hand you a teacher ID; it just puts your name in the eligible pool. The real recruitment for AP schools runs through the Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT), and your APTET score carries a 20% weightage in that TRT. So treat it as step one of two: qualify now and your APTET marks feed into the TRT selection when that notification lands; skip it and you can’t sit the TRT. You can track other live openings on our Andhra Pradesh government jobs page.
Common APTET June 2026 Questions on Fee, Dates and Eligibility
Is APTET June 2026 a direct teaching job in Andhra Pradesh?
No. APTET is a qualifying eligibility test under RTE-2009 and NCTE norms. It only certifies that you’re eligible for SGT and School Assistant posts; the hiring happens later through the Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT).
How many vacancies are there in APTET June 2026?
None. APTET isn’t a vacancy-based recruitment, so the notification lists no posts. It certifies eligibility for the pool the later TRT recruitment draws from, where your APTET score also carries a 20% weightage.
I have both D.El.Ed and B.Ed, so how much APTET fee do I pay?
Rs.1000 per paper. Sitting the two general papers, Paper 1A and Paper 2A, costs Rs.2000; if you also take the special-school papers 1B and 2B, that’s four papers and Rs.4000. You only pay for the papers you register for.
What’s the last date to submit the APTET June 2026 application?
5 July 2026. Applications and fee payment close that day at cse.ap.gov.in, so confirm everything before it ends.
When and how will the APTET June 2026 exam be held?
It’s a Computer Based Test held from 5 to 21 August 2026 in multiple shifts across Andhra Pradesh. Each paper is out of 150 marks, with category-wise pass marks of 90 for OC and EWS, 75 for BC, and 60 for SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates.
Does passing APTET guarantee a posting in AP government schools?
No. Clearing APTET gives you the certificate you need to apply, but the job comes through the separate Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) selection. It’s the entry ticket, not the posting.
