Law graduates who passed a regular law degree in the two years before 27 October 2026 can apply for the Telangana High Court Research Assistant posts. Notification No.29/SO/2026 of that date offers 16 posts of Research Assistant (Law), all on contract for one year. Fourteen people will assist the Judges of the High Court in Hyderabad, and two will work at the Telangana State Judicial Academy in Secunderabad. You must be under 30 on 1 July 2026. A corrigendum of 2 November 2026 fixes the pay at Rs 50,000 a month. The form goes to the Registrar General by registered post with acknowledgement due, on or before 30 November 2026, 5 PM.

Notice and listing used: Notification No.29/SO/2026 (PDF), Roc.No.2435/SO/2026, dated 27.10.2026 and signed by the Registrar General. Its four pages hold two pages of notice text and a one-page application proforma. The High Court links it from the scrolling news bar of its website, not from the list on the Recruitment page. On 5 November 2026 the same bar also linked a one-page corrigendum dated 02.11.2026 and signed by the Registrar General. It sets the monthly pay. It leaves “all other terms and conditions” unchanged. The 30 November last date is therefore as printed in the notification. We found no extension or cancellation.

16 contract posts: 14 with the Judges, 2 at the Judicial Academy

Where you work Posts Term
High Court for the State of Telangana, Hyderabad (to assist the Judges) 14 Contract, one year
Telangana State Judicial Academy, Secunderabad 2 Contract, one year
Total 16

The engagement follows the High Court’s guidelines for Research Assistants. A Government Order (G.O.) of the Law Department, G.O.Ms.No.45 dated 15.06.2017, notified them, and later Gazette notifications and orders amended them. The notice also cites G.O.Rt.No.1554 of the Finance (HRM.VII) Department dated 08.08.2026, and the corrigendum names the same order for the pay. The notification gives no category-wise split of the 16 posts. The High Court may increase or reduce the posts, or cancel the notification, at any stage.

5-year LL.B or 3+3 years: “regular” at every step

The Telangana High Court Research Assistant notice accepts a law degree from a recognised university in one of two ways:

  • A 5-year regular law course taken after Class 12 (10+2), or
  • Regular Class 12, then a 3-year regular degree course, then a 3-year regular law degree from a college affiliated to a recognised university.

The word “regular” is used for the law course in both routes, and for every step of the 3-year route. The notice does not mention distance or correspondence courses at all.

There is also a time limit. You must have passed the law degree within the 2 years just before the date of the notification, 27 October 2026. On this wording, a degree passed more than 2 years before that date falls outside the window. The notice does not say whether the exam date or the result date counts.

Not yet 30 on 1 July 2026, and no other course while you work

  • You must not have reached 30 years of age on the 1 July before the last date. With a last date of 30 November 2026, that date is 1 July 2026.
  • You must be a citizen of India.
  • You must not be doing any other course or profession that may require you to be away from work during the contract.
  • You should know how to find material on legal research tools such as Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis and Westlaw.

Gazetted Officer attestation and the Research Assistant (Law) proforma

The application proforma is printed as the third page of the notice PDF. The notice says it is also on the High Court website, tg.tshc.gov.in. It asks for:

  1. Full name in capital letters, and father’s name.
  2. Date of birth and age, with proof.
  3. Academic qualifications, with proof.
  4. Percentage of marks in the law degree, with the marks memo.
  5. Details of enrolment as an Advocate with any Bar Council, if you are enrolled, with proof.
  6. Technical qualifications, if any, with proof.
  7. Nationality, and category (OC, OBC, SC or ST) with proof. The notice does not expand OC.
  8. Languages known, permanent address, and an address for letters with phone number and e-mail ID. The phone and e-mail are compulsory.

A recent passport-size photo goes on the form. It must be attested by a Gazetted Officer or by the Principal of a law college. A Gazetted Officer is a senior government officer whose appointment is published in the official Gazette. You sign the form twice: once at the end of the details and once under the verification.

With the form, send copies of your SSC (Class 10), Intermediate (Class 12), degree, LL.B and enrolment certificates (see the enrolment point further down). These certificate copies must be attested by a Gazetted Officer. Also give your e-mail ID and contact number, and a valid ID proof issued by the State or Central Government.

Registered post to the Registrar General by 30 November 2026, 5 PM

  1. Write “Application for the post of Research Assistants (Law)” on the envelope.
  2. Address it to the Registrar General, High Court for the State of Telangana.
  3. Send it by registered post with acknowledgement due (AD). With AD, the post office returns a signed card to you as proof of delivery.
  4. Send it on or before 30 November 2026, 5 PM. Applications received after the last date are not considered.

The High Court says it is not responsible for postal delay. Posting the form well before the last date reduces that risk.

Rs 50,000 a month by corrigendum, no selection method in 29/SO/2026, and a Bar enrolment line

  • The notification itself states no pay. The corrigendum of 02.11.2026 says the monthly remuneration of the Research Assistants (Law) on contract “shall be Rs.50,000/-” per month, as per G.O.Rt.No.1554 dated 08.08.2026. It does not say whether this is before or after any deduction, and it lists no other allowance.
  • Neither the notification nor the corrigendum says how candidates will be selected, whether by interview, test or marks. The form asks for the law degree percentage, but the notice does not say how it is used.
  • Page 2 of the notification asks for attested “LL.B & Enrollment Certificates”. Yet eligibility conditions (i) to (vi) on pages 1 and 2 do not require enrolment with a Bar Council. Item 6 of the form on page 3 asks for enrolment details only “if” you are enrolled. The notice does not say which reading applies. If you are enrolled, send the proof. If you are not, you apply knowing the notice leaves this open. The notice gives no phone number or e-mail for questions, so the Registrar General’s office is the only contact.
  • No application fee, reservation, age relaxation or minimum age is mentioned. The form still asks for your category, with proof, without saying how it is used.
  • The term is one year, and the notice says nothing about extension.
