Assistant Grade-3 needs a degree, a one-year computer diploma and Hindi-English typing
The Assistant Grade-3 post needs all of these:
- A graduate degree from any recognised university.
- A one-year diploma course in computers from a recognised board or university.
- Knowledge of Hindi and English typing on a computer.
Candidates are also expected to know Chhattisgarhi or the local dialect. For the typing skill, you must attach a certificate of a typing exam passed from a recognised board. All certificates must be valid on the day you submit the form.
Why the 40-year limit for Chhattisgarh residents cites a 2019 memo
The base age range is 18 to 35 years on 1 January 2026. Your date of birth is taken only from your Class 10 (High School) marksheet. No other document is accepted for age.
For local residents of Chhattisgarh, the notice sets the upper limit at 40 years. It quotes a state memo of 30 January 2019 for this 5-year relaxation. That memo granted the relaxation for 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2023. It still states 40 years as the limit for this advertisement.
After every relaxation, the maximum age cannot go above 45 years. The main relaxations listed are:
- SC and ST of Chhattisgarh: up to 5 years. OBC of Chhattisgarh: up to 5 years.
- Women who are local residents of Chhattisgarh: 10 years, on top of their category relaxation.
- Widows, abandoned and divorced women: 5 more years.
- Chhattisgarh government employees, including work-charged and contingency staff, and staff of state corporations and boards: 3 years.
- Ex-servicemen: their defence service is deducted from their age, but the result must not be more than 3 years above the limit.
- Volunteer Home Guards: up to 8 years for their service, but not above 38 years of age.
- Award winners such as the Vikram award and national youth award, outstanding sportspersons, get 5 years. So does the savarna (non-SC, ST or OBC) partner of a couple rewarded under the inter-caste marriage scheme.
Only one relaxation from the main list applies, the one that helps you most. An incentive relaxation, such as for an award, can be added on top. You must attach the certificate for any relaxation you claim.
The written paper only shortlists; 250 typing marks pick the 12
Selection has two stages.
| Stage | What it is | Marks and time |
|---|---|---|
| Written test | 25 objective questions on general knowledge, current affairs, general maths and mental ability | 50 marks (2 per question), 45 minutes |
| Skill test | Type a 250-word passage on a computer | 250 marks, 10 minutes |
The written test only decides who goes to the skill test. The court calls 10 candidates for each post, category by category. Everyone who ties at the last mark is also called, even if that goes above the 1:10 ratio.
The final category-wise selection list is then made on the basis of skill test marks. So the typing test decides who gets the job. A waiting list of the same size as the posts is also made, valid for up to one year.
If two candidates get the same marks, the older one is selected. If the date of birth is also the same, the name that comes first in English alphabetical order wins.
Typing in LibreOffice on Ubuntu: what the Korba skill test checks
The skill test has a set format worth practising in advance:
- You type a 250-word passage in 10 minutes.
- The computer runs Ubuntu Linux (a free system used instead of Windows). You type in LibreOffice (a free program like MS Word) in a Unicode font such as Mangal. Unicode is the standard that shows Hindi the same on every computer. The passage language is not named. Our suggestion: Mangal is a Hindi font, so practise Hindi Unicode typing as well as English.
- One mark is cut for every word you leave out and for every mistake.
- Formatting also counts as a mistake. Adding headings, bold, underline or extra paragraph settings will cost marks.
If you have only typed in Windows or with a Krutidev-style font (older Hindi fonts with a typewriter layout), practise on LibreOffice with a Unicode Hindi keyboard before the test.
Category and post name on the envelope: posting the Assistant Grade-3 form
- Download the form, which is part of the same PDF (pages 14 to 18), from the Korba district court website.
- Fill it in the given format only. A form in any other format, or an incomplete form, is rejected.
- Paste a recent colour passport photo on it and self-attest it.
- Attach self-attested copies of your degree, computer diploma, typing certificate, Class 10 marksheet, caste certificate and residence certificate. Add a self-signed copy of an ID such as Aadhaar, a driving licence or a voter ID.
- If you work in a government office, a corporation, a board or an undertaking, attach a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer.
- On the envelope, write your category, the post name and the office name. The notice asks for a separate form for each post if you apply for more than one.
- The form is addressed to the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Korba, District Korba (Chhattisgarh). Post it so that it reaches the office by 5:00 PM on 30 October 2026. The notice says forms that arrive late, or by any means other than post, will not be considered.
No application fee is mentioned.
After 30 October: eligible list, 7 days for objections, then the tests
The court will first check the forms and publish lists of eligible and ineligible candidates on its website and notice board. If you find a problem, you can raise a claim or objection in person before the selection committee within 7 days of the list. A final eligible list follows.
For the skill test, the admit card has to be downloaded from the district court website. No admit card is sent separately. Paste a colour photo on it, sign it, bring an original ID, and reach the centre one hour early. Late arrivals are not allowed in, and the test may run in more than one shift. No travel allowance is paid.
Selected candidates serve a three-year probation. They must give a fitness certificate from the district medical board. The notice says it can follow within 30 days of a provisional appointment. Their caste certificates and police record are also verified.
Two court and Chhattisgarh jobs that close before Korba’s 30 October deadline
