Added together, the post codes come to 97 posts; the notice itself prints no grand total and says the numbers are provisional. Applications open at 10 AM on 19 October and shut at 11:59 PM on 9 November 2026. The fee must be paid in the same window. Class 10 is enough for the 16 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) posts. Another 44 Technician ‘B’ and Draughtsman ‘B’ posts add an ITI trade. The 23 Level 7 posts need a first class diploma, degree or nursing diploma. Fireman and driver posts make up the rest.

SDSC SHAR advertisement read for this page: Advertisement No. SDSC SHAR/RMT/03/2026 is dated 19 October 2026. It is a 43-page Hindi and English notice from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR, Sriharikota, with its certificate formats at the end. The same file sits on the ISRO careers page for this advertisement and on the SDSC SHAR online recruitment portal, where you also apply. The notice itself is the Advt 03/2026 PDF. On 26 October 2026 the SDSC SHAR career page still listed Advt SDSC SHAR/RMT/03/2026 as open, with no corrigendum or date change. The PDF on both sites was the same file as on 19 October.

Nine SDSC SHAR Technician ‘B’ trade codes, from Fitter to Boiler Attendant at Rasayani

UR means Unreserved, OBC Other Backward Classes, SC Scheduled Caste, ST Scheduled Tribe and EWS Economically Weaker Section.

Code Trade Posts Category split
18 Fitter 17 UR 5, OBC 8, SC 2, EWS 2 (1 post for a hard of hearing candidate)
19 Electronic Mechanic 12 UR 4, OBC 6, EWS 2
16 Electrician 5 UR 2, OBC 1, SC 2
17 Chemical trades 3 UR 2, EWS 1
20 Boiler Attendant (Rasayani) 2 UR 2
21 to 24 Turner, Refrigeration and AC, Civil Engineering Assistant, Photography 1 each UR, except Civil Engineering Assistant (OBC)

Technician ‘B’ posts need Class 10 (the SSLC or SSC certificate) and a trade certificate from NCVT, the National Council for Vocational Training. An ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate, an NTC (National Trade Certificate) or an NAC (National Apprenticeship Certificate) is accepted. Code 17 accepts any one of five trades: Chemical, Attendant Operator (Chemical), Instrument Mechanic (Chemical), Maintenance Mechanic (Chemical Plant) or Laboratory Assistant (Chemical). Boiler Attendant asks for an NAC in the trade and a first class Boiler Attendant certificate.

First class diploma or degree for the 23 Level 7 posts

  • Technical Assistant: a first class diploma of at least three years in the post’s branch. The branches are Mechanical (7 posts), Electrical or Electrical and Electronics (1), Computer Science (1), Electronics and Communication (3) and Civil (2).
  • Scientific Assistant: a first class B.Sc. with Physics as the main subject and Maths and Chemistry as ancillary subjects (2 posts). The third post (SC) needs a first class Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography or Visual Arts in Cinematography.
  • Library Assistant ‘A’: first class graduation plus a first class master’s degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science (3 posts).
  • Nurse ‘B’: a first class nursing diploma of at least three years, registered with the State Nursing Council (3 posts).

One of the 7 Mechanical posts (code 07) and one of the 17 Fitter posts (code 18) are kept for hard of hearing candidates. If no suitable candidate with that disability is found, those posts stay vacant and move to the next recruitment.

All qualifications must be in hand on 9 November 2026. If you hold a qualification that you think is equivalent, you must bring proof certified by the university or institution at the skill test or interview.

Four work sites in Advt 03/2026, from Sriharikota to ADRIN in Secunderabad

Most posts are at SDSC SHAR in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. Some codes are split across two places, and you will rank the places in your form:

  • Codes 10, 16, 17, 18 and 19: Sriharikota or the Propellant Complex at Rasayani, Raigad, Maharashtra.
  • Code 12 (Scientific Assistant, Physics): Sriharikota or the Balasore Rocket Launching Station in Odisha.
  • Code 20 (Boiler Attendant): Rasayani only.
  • Code 30 (4 Light Vehicle Driver posts): ADRIN (Advanced Data Processing Research Institute), Secunderabad, Telangana.

The notice keeps 7 posts in codes 16 to 28 for ex-servicemen, and 1 of the 3 Unreserved driver posts at ADRIN (code 30). If no ex-serviceman qualifies, the post goes to the category it was drawn from.

Places are given on merit and preference. Once allotted, you cannot ask for another place, even if someone else does not join. A transfer later can take you to any ISRO or Department of Space unit.

18 to 25 for Fireman and MTS, 18 to 35 for the other ISRO SDSC SHAR Recruitment 2026 posts

Age is counted on 9 November 2026, the last date. The age limit is 18 to 35 years for all posts except Fireman ‘A’ and Multi-Tasking Staff, where it is 18 to 25. The upper limit rises by 5 years for SC and ST and by 3 years for OBC. This applies only on a post kept for that category. Ex-servicemen, persons with benchmark disabilities, central government employees and meritorious sportspersons get relaxation as per central orders. For disability relaxation the disability must be at least 40%.

Negative marking of 0.33 or 0.25 across the five SDSC SHAR test groups

Posts Written test Next stage
Technical, Scientific and Library Assistant, Technician ‘B’, Draughtsman ‘B’ 80 questions in 90 minutes Skill test, pass or fail
Nurse ‘B’ 80 questions in 120 minutes Skill test, pass or fail
Fireman ‘A’ 80 questions in 120 minutes Physical test and detailed medical test
Light and Heavy Vehicle Driver 100 questions in 120 minutes Driving skill test, 60% needed
Multi-Tasking Staff 100 questions in 90 minutes None

In the 80-question papers, a right answer gets 1 mark and a wrong answer loses 0.33 mark. In the driver and MTS papers, a wrong answer loses 0.25 mark. A blank answer costs nothing in any paper. The final list goes by written marks alone, from among those who clear the later stage.

Unreserved candidates need 32 out of 80 in the Assistant, Technician and Draughtsman papers. A candidate on a reserved post needs 24. Candidates go to the skill test in a ratio of 1 to 5 by category, with at least 10 called. The skill test needs 50 out of 100, or 40 for a reserved post. The MTS paper covers numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness and English. It needs 50% for Unreserved and EWS, 45% for OBC and 40% for other reserved categories.

The driver paper has 50 questions on the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. It also has 15 on Class 8 level English, 15 on Class 10 level arithmetic and 20 on general knowledge. You need 50% in the Motor Vehicles Act part and 50% in the other three parts together. If too few SC, ST, OBC or ex-servicemen candidates pass, these marks can be relaxed by up to 25% to fill their posts.

Annexure-A doctor’s form, rope climb and dummy carry for SDSC SHAR Fireman ‘A’

Fireman applicants must attach a Preliminary Medical Examination certificate in the Annexure-A format. A government doctor of at least Assistant Civil Surgeon rank must sign it. The certificate is valid for six months and must still be valid on the day of the physical test. A wrong or incomplete format means disqualification.

  • Minimum height: 165 cm for men (160 cm for Gorkhas, hill tribes, SC and ST) and 155 cm for women and transgender candidates.
  • Distance vision of 6/6 in each eye without glasses.
  • Stage 1 for men up to 40: 1,500 metres in 7 minutes. Women and transgender candidates run 800 metres in 4 minutes.
  • Stage 2 for men up to 40 has four events. Climb a 5 metre rope using hands only and carry a 60 kg dummy for 25 metres in 60 seconds. Then long jump 3.8 metres and run 100 metres in 15 seconds.

SDSC SHAR light and heavy vehicle drivers: experience counted from the licence date

Light Vehicle Driver ‘A’ needs Class 10, a valid light vehicle licence and 3 years of experience as a light vehicle driver. Heavy Vehicle Driver ‘A’ needs Class 10 and 5 years of experience, of which at least 3 years must be as a heavy vehicle driver. The rest can be light motor vehicle driving. It also needs a heavy vehicle licence and, where the law requires one, a Public Service Badge. This is the transport department’s badge for drivers of public service vehicles. The Hindi text names a light vehicle licence at this point, but the notice says the English version prevails. Candidates from states where the badge is not compulsory must get it within 3 months of joining, as it is compulsory in Andhra Pradesh.

Experience counts only after you got a valid licence. Certificates must come from a government body, a registered company, society or trust, not from a private person. Part-time driving does not count.

Codes 16 to 30: Rs 500 on the SDSC SHAR apply portal, though page 23 spells out seven hundred and fifty

For post codes 07 to 15, every applicant pays a processing fee of Rs 750 per application. For codes 16 to 30, page 23 of the notice prints “Rs. 500/-” in figures, but the words after it say “Rupees seven Hundred and Fifty only”. The Hindi text on the same page has the same mismatch. The refund lines for those codes, Rs 500 in full or Rs 400 after a Rs 100 cut, match Rs 500. We checked the post list on the SDSC SHAR apply portal on 26 October 2026. It showed Rs 500 against every code from 16 to 30, and Rs 750 against codes 07 to 15. No corrigendum on the fee had been posted by then.

So Rs 500 is the amount the portal shows for codes 16 to 30. Still, check the amount on the payment screen before you pay. The notice gives no helpline phone number. If the amount on your screen is not Rs 500, write to recruit@shar.gov.in before paying, with the advertisement number, post code and post name.

No written test, no refund. Women, SC, ST, persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen get the full amount back. Others get Rs 500 back for codes 07 to 15, and Rs 400 for codes 16 to 30. Enter your bank details carefully for the refund. Each post code needs its own application and fee.

Photo, signature and the 18 CBT cities for Advt 03/2026

The written test is a computer-based test (CBT). It is held in 18 cities: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Dehradun, Guntur, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati and Vishakhapatnam. A city runs only if enough candidates choose it. The test date will be announced later.

  • Photo: colour, JPG, up to 40 KB, 110 x 140 pixels, not older than 6 months.
  • Signature: JPG, up to 20 KB, 200 x 50 pixels.
  • Upload your qualification documents. Add an SC, ST, disability or ex-serviceman certificate for the full refund. Staff of a central or state government office, a PSU or an autonomous body also need a no-objection certificate.

The written test is allowed on the details you type in. Originals are checked at the skill test. Missing originals or wrong details can cancel your candidature. Call letters come by e-mail and can be downloaded with your registration number and date of birth. Outstation candidates called for a skill test get sleeper class train or non-AC bus fare, whichever is less, by the shortest route. Travel to the CBT is at your own cost.

The form and payment close at 11:59 PM on 9 November 2026. Fireman applicants should book the medical examination early, since the certificate goes in with the form. For more openings, see all-India government jobs, central PSU and research body recruitments, jobs for ITI holders and jobs for 10th pass candidates. ITI holders may also look at the ISRO IPRC Technician ‘B’ recruitment and the CSIR-CFTRI Technician recruitment.
