Former senior bank officers, experienced bank executive secretaries and, for the technical post, long-serving teachers can seek a three-year contract at IBPS Mumbai under advertisement IBPS/2026-27/03. This IBPS Banker Faculty Recruitment 2026 notice from the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) covers three posts. They are Banker Faculty-Technical, Banker Faculty and Executive Secretary to Director. IBPS set the online window as 23 September to 20 October 2026, after extending the first last date of 6 October. Each post pays a fixed Rs 90,000 a month. The age band is 50 to 61 years for the two faculty posts and 45 to 61 for the Executive Secretary. IBPS has not printed how many posts are vacant.

The two IBPS papers: Advertisement Number IBPS/2026-27/03 (15 pages), dated 23 September 2026 and issued by the Division Head (Administration), IBPS Mumbai. The second is the one-page addendum of 6 October 2026 that moved the last date to 20 October 2026. Page numbers below refer to the advertisement. Both PDFs, the advertisement and the addendum, are listed on the IBPS careers page. On 14 October 2026 the IBPS careers page showed no corrigendum, cancellation or further date extension for IBPS/2026-27/03 after the addendum of 6 October 2026.

Who IBPS is hiring for its own Mumbai office, and on what terms

This advertisement is for staff of IBPS itself, not for a bank. All three posts are fixed-term, full-time contract jobs at IBPS, Mumbai (page 1). Selection is by shortlisting and an interview.

The notice does not give a vacancy count. It says selected candidates will be appointed “against the existing vacancies”. IBPS will also keep a wait list for later needs, valid for six months (page 1).

Post Age on 1 September 2026 Who it is meant for
Banker Faculty-Technical 50 to 61 Former Scale IV+ officers of a public sector bank or organisation with 15 years’ experience. Also bankers with exposure to listed areas, or 15-year teachers of those subjects
Banker Faculty 50 to 61 Officers who have left a public sector bank after working as Chief Manager or above
Executive Secretary to Director 45 to 61 Officers with 3 years as Executive Secretary to top management in a public sector bank

Scale IV, Chief Manager or Board Secretariat: three service records IBPS will accept

Banker Faculty-Technical. The degree is a full-time B.Tech, B.E. or AMIE in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics and Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Chemical, IT or Computer Science. The notice joins this with “AND / OR” to a banker with exposure to listed areas (page 2). These include finance, forex, insurance, treasury, risk management, credit, cyber security, AI and machine learning.

For experience, the notice accepts any one of three routes:

  • an officer of Scale IV or above who has left a public sector bank, financial organisation or public sector organisation, with at least 15 years’ experience. Work as a Technical Officer or “SSI Officer” in senior management is preferred;
  • a banker with exposure to the subjects listed above;
  • at least 15 years of teaching one or more of those subjects in a reputed institute or college.

Banker Faculty. You need a graduate or postgraduate degree in any subject, preferably with the CAIIB banking certificate. You must have left a public sector bank after working as Chief Manager or above. Experience as faculty in a training institute, or in setting question papers for bank recruitment or promotion exams, is preferred (page 2).

Executive Secretary to Director. You need a graduate or postgraduate degree in any subject, with computer experience as an added qualification. You must have worked for at least 3 years as Executive Secretary to top management, as Chief Manager, Assistant General Manager or Deputy General Manager. That work must be in the Executive Director, Managing Director or Board Secretariat office of a public sector bank. Working knowledge of Marathi is desirable (page 3).

For both faculty posts, the “left the bank” condition covers several exits. It includes retirement on superannuation, voluntary retirement (including under the “SBP VRS”), release under an Exit Option Scheme, and leaving before superannuation in some other way. Good computer skills, especially MS Office, are necessary for all three posts.

IBPS may relax the qualification and experience rules for a suitable candidate. It may also raise them to limit the number called for interview (page 3).

Born between 2 September 1965 and 1 September 1976, or up to 1981 for the Executive Secretary

Age is counted on 1 September 2026. For the two faculty posts, you must be born between 2 September 1965 and 1 September 1976, both dates included. For the Executive Secretary to Director, the window is 2 September 1965 to 1 September 1981. The notice mentions no age relaxation for any category.

IBPS Banker Faculty Recruitment 2026 pay: a fixed Rs 90,000 with no DA, HRA or increment

All three posts pay a consolidated (fixed) Rs 90,000 a month. IBPS puts the annual cost to company (CTC) at Rs 20.21 lakh. CTC is the total cost of the job to the employer, not the take-home amount (page 3).

  • No TA (travel allowance), DA (Dearness Allowance), HRA (House Rent Allowance) or LTC/HTC (leave or home travel concession) is paid on top.
  • The CTC includes medical benefits, mediclaim, leave encashment, phone and newspaper bills, canteen subsidy and a performance-linked incentive, as per IBPS rules.
  • The pay stays the same for the whole contract, with no annual increment (page 9).
  • PF (Provident Fund) and gratuity rules do not apply (page 9).
  • Income tax and other taxes are deducted at source (page 10).

The first contract is for three years, with a review every year. After that, IBPS may offer a new contract based on performance, fitness and its own needs. The notice says the job gives no claim to absorption or regularisation (page 8). You may not take any other paid or unpaid professional work during the contract (page 10). In emergencies, you may also be called to work beyond office hours, on weekends or on holidays, with no extra pay (page 10).

What a Banker Faculty does at IBPS: writing and reviewing exam questions

Both faculty posts are about question papers. The Banker Faculty-Technical writes, sources and reviews multiple choice and short answer questions. The areas run from engineering branches and food science to HR, agriculture, forex, treasury, credit, cyber security and machine learning. The Banker Faculty does the same work for banking knowledge and financial or general awareness (page 4).

The Executive Secretary reports directly to the Director. The role covers the Director’s calendar, letters, travel, confidential files, and meetings of the Governing Board and senior committees. It also covers liaison with government departments (page 4). The notice says the posts need “full 24 x 7 commitment” to the Institute (page 11).

Shortlisting and a Mumbai interview: how IBPS picks from the applicants

IBPS first checks applications against the minimum rules. A screening committee may then call fewer people, based on qualifications and experience above the minimum. So the notice asks you to list all your qualifications and experience and upload proof (page 9).

Shortlisted candidates get a call letter with the date and time, and IBPS may send it by e-mail. The interview is held at IBPS, Mumbai, and requests to change the date or venue are not accepted (page 5). The advertisement’s tentative schedule had listed the interview for October 2026. The addendum of 6 October 2026 gives no new interview date. If the interviews run into a second day, you pay for your own stay and meals (page 5). A committee makes the final selection, and only those selected are told by e-mail or letter.

Bring originals and self-attested copies of these papers to the interview (pages 5 and 6):

  • the call letter and the application printout;
  • proof of date of birth and a photo ID;
  • degree certificates and experience certificates.

Do you still work in a government or quasi-government office, a PSU (public sector undertaking), a nationalised bank or a financial institution? Then you also need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) in original from your employer. Without it, your candidature will not be considered (page 6). At joining, the selected candidate gives a medical fitness certificate and police verification (page 1).

Conditions in IBPS/2026-27/03 that can disqualify you

  • Unpaid dues: a default on borrowing or card dues with a bank, NBFC (non-banking financial company) or financial institution makes you ineligible. It must be cleared before the offer letter, with NOCs from the lender as proof (page 10).
  • Service record: your integrity must not have been in doubt, and no penalty should have been imposed during service. No conviction or pending CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) or police case is allowed (page 3). An adverse character report, or being found guilty in a departmental inquiry, also rules you out (page 11).
  • Past dismissal: people dismissed or removed from government, PSU or IBPS service cannot apply. Former IBPS employees who resigned cannot rejoin (page 9).
  • IBPS staff: the posts are not open to internal candidates, regular or contractual (page 9).
  • Posting: the job is in Mumbai only, and you must arrange your own housing there (page 11).
  • Cancellation: IBPS may cancel the whole process at any stage without giving a reason (page 10).

One rule helps some applicants. If you applied for these posts against an earlier IBPS advertisement, the notice says you need not apply again (page 11).
