UPSSSC JE Agriculture 2026 Recruitment: 134 Junior Engineer Posts
On this page
You can apply for UPSSSC JE Agriculture 2026 only if you have two things: a Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 score card and a 3-year diploma in Agricultural Engineering. The notice has 134 Junior Engineer posts in the Directorate of Agriculture, Uttar Pradesh. The online form and fee window is 17 September to 7 October 2026. Payments made by 7 October can be matched by the bank until 14 October 2026. The notice lets you correct your form until 14 October. The UPSSSC website, though, lists 7 October as the last date to modify it, so make any correction by 7 October.
Where the 134 JE Agriculture posts go: UR 54, OBC 43, SC 23
| Category | Posts |
|---|---|
| UR (unreserved) | 54 |
| OBC | 43 |
| SC | 23 |
| EWS | 13 |
| ST | 1 |
| Total | 134 |
Within these categories, some posts are set aside for special groups. Women get 26, ex-servicemen 6, dependants of UP freedom fighters 2 and outstanding UP sportspersons 2. Persons with disabilities get 5 posts. Two are for people who are hard of hearing. The other three are for people with a disability of one arm or one leg, people cured of leprosy, people with dwarfism, and acid attack survivors. No disability post is reserved for blind or low-vision candidates.
The notice calls the posts “permanent and temporary”. It also warns that the number of posts in each category may go up or down.
PET 2025 score card: the first test for UPSSSC JE Agriculture 2026
This is a main exam under UPSSSC’s two-stage system. Stage one was PET 2025, a common screening test. You can apply only if you took PET 2025 and UPSSSC issued you a score card. To log in, you use your PET 2025 registration number and an OTP sent to the mobile number or email you gave in PET.
A score card does not by itself get you into the main exam. Under para 10, UPSSSC calls 15 candidates for every post in each category, based on the normalised PET score. Normalising means adjusting marks so that different PET shifts can be compared. Everyone tied at the final cut-off is also called. A PET score of zero or below, either raw or normalised, rules you out.
Candidates marked “Under Investigation” or “Provisional” in PET 2025 can apply. Their shortlisting depends on the result of the Commission’s inquiry.
Diploma in Agricultural Engineering and the BTE equivalence letter
You need both of these by 7 October 2026:
- High School (10th) from the UP Board, or an exam the government treats as equal.
- A 3-year diploma in Agricultural Engineering from the Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh (BTE). An equal qualification recognised by the government and approved by AICTE also counts.
The notice explains “equal” through a BTE letter of 26 October 2024, attached at the end. The letter says the Board has no government order on equivalent diplomas. Instead, it points to a list in AICTE’s Approval Process Handbook 2022-23. That list names two diplomas under Agriculture Engineering: Agricultural Engineering and Agricultural Technology. So Agricultural Technology appears to qualify, but under para 11.12 the Commission’s decision on eligibility is final.
No degree is asked for, and you do not need a computer certificate such as O Level or CCC. When candidates are otherwise equal, preference goes to someone with 2 years in the Territorial Army or an NCC ‘B’ certificate.
Age 18 to 40 on 1 July 2026, and who gets more years
You must be at least 18 and not over 40 on 1 July 2026. UPSSSC goes by the birth date on your High School certificate.
The notice says SC, ST and other categories named by the government get a higher upper limit, but it does not print the number of years. UP state government employees get 5 extra years (para 11.10). Researchers under the Chief Minister Fellowship get a relaxation under their own 2026 rules (para 11.11). If you fall in more than one reserved group, only one relaxation applies: the one that helps you most (para 11.02).
Candidates from outside Uttar Pradesh can apply, but they get no reservation and count as unreserved (para 11.03). For UP women, only a caste certificate issued on the father’s side is valid.
Pay now, pay again if shortlisted: the two UPSSSC fees
At this stage you pay only an online processing fee of Rs 25, whatever your category. You can pay by bank card, net banking, UPI or SBI e-challan. Pay by 7 October 2026. The bank then has until 14 October to match your payment, and your form is submitted only when it is matched.
The main exam fee is separate. Only shortlisted candidates pay it, before they download the admit card. The notice does not give the amount.
If you paid but the form does not show as submitted, use “Update Your Transaction ID by Double Verification” on the site. If the payment failed, use the same step, then pay again through “Application Fee Deposition”.
Locked from PET, and the 7 or 14 October correction deadline
Most of your details come straight from your PET 2025 form. That includes your name, category, UP domicile, date of birth, photo and signature. You cannot change them in this application.
After you finally submit the form, you can change only these through “Modify Application” on your dashboard:
- your address for letters;
- EWS status, gender and special groups such as ex-servicemen, freedom fighter dependant, disability or sportsperson;
- your qualification details;
- your marital status.
The notice allows these changes until 14 October 2026 (page 1 and para 3). The dates table on the UPSSSC website, checked on 3 October, gives 7 October 2026 as the last date to modify an application, the same day the form closes. UPSSSC has put out no notice on this so far, so make any change by 7 October.
Sent two forms? Only the latest is kept (para 11.29). Your EWS certificate must be issued between 1 April and 7 October 2026, based on income for 2025-26.
65 marks of farm engineering, 35 of IT and UP GK
Selection rests on the written main exam, and there is no interview. The paper has 100 multiple-choice questions of 1 mark each, in 2 hours. Each wrong answer costs a quarter of a mark.
| Part | Topics | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Agricultural engineering: 13 topics of 5 questions each | 65 |
| 2 | Computer and IT, and recent technology | 15 |
| 3 | General knowledge of Uttar Pradesh | 20 |
The 13 engineering topics are:
- farm power and non-conventional energy
- IC engines

- biogas
- wind and solar energy
- post-harvest technology
- agro-based industries

The exam plan and syllabus are on pages 10 to 13 (Hindi) and 14 to 18 (English) of the notice. The notice says the exam date will be announced later. If the exam runs in more than one shift, marks will be normalised.
Level 6 pay for a UP Junior Engineer (Agriculture)
The notice prints the pay as Level 6, with a pay scale of Rs 9,300 to Rs 34,800 and grade pay of Rs 4,200. It does not state the entry pay under the current pay matrix, so this page gives no monthly figure.
