Kerala PSC Computer Assistant Recruitment 2026: University Jobs Through One Ranked List, No Fee
On this page
Kerala PSC has opened a recruitment that works differently from anything else we cover. One application puts you in line for Computer Assistant Grade II jobs at Kerala’s state universities, through a single common ranked list. Kerala PSC Computer Assistant Recruitment 2026 (Category No. 050/2026) is open till 5 August 2026, midnight, and there is no application fee.
One List for Kerala’s State Universities
Most states recruit one post at one department per notification. Kerala PSC does something better here: this notification builds a common ranked list covering all universities under the Kerala PSC (Additional Functions) Act 2015. You apply once. When any covered university reports a vacancy during the list’s life (minimum 1 year, maximum 3), candidates are advised from the list by rank and reservation rotation. You don’t choose the university; the rank does. Once advised to one university, your turn on the list is over, so a single strong exam performance can carry you for up to three years of openings.
One honest caveat that most listings gloss over: this is an “anticipated vacancies” notification. Kerala PSC has published no vacancy number, because the list will serve openings as they arise. Any site quoting a specific post count for Category 050/2026 is inventing it.

The Certificates That Decide Everything
The education bar is SSLC-level. The real gatekeepers are the typewriting certificates, and they must be the government-issued KGTE ones (an institute’s own certificate is rejected):
- Typewriting English, higher grade (KGTE), plus Computer Word Processing or its equivalent. If your KGTE English pass is from before January 2002, you must separately hold the Computer Word Processing certificate when you apply.
- Typewriting Malayalam, lower grade (KGTE) or equivalent.
Higher or equivalent qualifications are accepted under Kerala’s service rules, but then the Government Order proving equivalence is your responsibility at verification. If you claim anything equivalent, keep that G.O. ready.
An Age Window Wider Than Usual
Most recruitment age ceilings we track stop well before 40. This one runs 18 to 40 (born between 2 January 1986 and 1 January 2008, both inclusive). On top of that, standard relaxations apply from the General Conditions: +5 years for SC/ST, +3 for OBC, +5 for widows and up to 15 for differently abled candidates. Ex-servicemen get their full defence-service length plus up to 5 years. Every relaxation sits inside an absolute ceiling of 50. Thirty-somethings who assumed they had aged out of Kerala PSC clerical posts have a real window here.
Applying Through OTR
- Register once on keralapsc.gov.in (One Time Registration) if you haven’t before. Your profile photo must be one taken within the last 6 months, with your name and the photo date printed at the bottom; once uploaded, it serves for 10 years. Add Aadhaar as your ID proof in the profile.
- Log in and hit “Apply Now” against Category No. 050/2026. The application is provisional and can’t be edited or withdrawn after submission, so preview carefully.
- Keep a printout from the “My applications” link. No fee, no payment step.
- Later stages arrive through your profile. When the exam is scheduled, you must submit a confirmation through your OTR profile to sit for it. Admission tickets appear only in the last 15 days before the test. Skipping the confirmation means absolute rejection, so check your profile and registered mobile regularly.
The exam date isn’t out yet, and the notification points to the Examination Calendar for it. The mode and syllabus aren’t announced at all. That gives you time to sharpen typing speed and brush up for a written/OMR/online test in whichever form it takes.
Where This Fits for You
A permanent post at ₹27,900 to ₹63,700, an SSLC-plus-typing entry bar, and zero fee. One exam feeds jobs across the state’s universities for up to three years. In hand, the starting scale works out to roughly ₹28,000 to ₹31,000 a month once DA is added and PF comes out; that’s our estimate, not a PSC figure. For Kerala’s typists and DTP-skilled candidates, this is the notification of the season. The soft spot is the unknown vacancy count, which is genuinely unknowable in the ranked-list system, so treat it as a lottery ticket that costs nothing but an application and some typing practice. Applications close 5 August at midnight.
This is our first Kerala post; the Kerala section grows from here. For deadlines elsewhere this month, the jobs board has every verified window.
