UR means unreserved. SC and ST are Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, OBC means other backward classes, and EWS is the economically weaker section. The grand total row on page 2 also counts 54 posts for persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) and 41 for ex-servicemen, inside the figures above. Ex-servicemen posts exist only in the Junior Judicial Assistant, Process Server and Peon grades.
OBC (Delhi) status and the 8 September 1993 rule for outside certificates
OBC reservation and the OBC age relaxation go only to OBC (Delhi) candidates, as notified by the Delhi government (page 15). The notice says OBC (Outside) candidates “will be treated as Un-reserved candidates and they must apply under UR category”.
Page 16 accepts only two kinds of OBC certificate:
- An OBC (Delhi) certificate from the Revenue Department of the Delhi government.
- A certificate from outside Delhi for a caste on the Delhi OBC list. It must be issued on the basis of a Delhi OBC certificate held by your father, a sibling or a real paternal uncle. That relative must have lived in Delhi before 8 September 1993.
The OBC non-creamy layer certificate must be issued between 1 April and 4 November 2026. An EWS candidate needs an Income and Asset Certificate for 2026-27, based on 2025-26 income, issued on or before 4 November 2026 (page 16).
1 June 2026 for age, 4 November 2026 for qualifications
For all five posts you must be born between 2 June 1999 and 1 June 2008, both dates included (page 17). Age is counted on 1 June 2026, but qualifications are counted on 4 November 2026, the closing date.
| Category | Extra years |
|---|---|
| SC and ST | 5 |
| OBC (Delhi) | 3 |
| PwBD (UR or EWS) | 10 |
| PwBD (OBC) | 13 |
| PwBD (SC or ST) | 15 |
| Ex-servicemen | Military service plus 3 years, up to age 55 |
Government employees with 3 years of regular service should read row 6 of the table on page 17 closely. The row starts with “There is no provision in DDC Rules, 2012”. It goes on: “Particularly Rule 7, that there shall be no age relaxation for Government Employees”. The rest refers to 3 years of regular and continuous service. It cites the minutes of the Unified Recruitment Committee meeting of 5 May 2026. The words lean towards no relaxation, but the sentence is garbled and gives no number. Do not count on a relaxation unless DSSSB clarifies it. Your date of birth is taken from your 10th certificate.
Post codes 805/26 to 808/26 need a degree with speed, a driving licence or 10th pass
- Senior Personal Assistant (Senior PA): a degree, with shorthand at 110 words a minute (wpm) and typing at 40 wpm.
- Personal Assistant (PA): a degree, shorthand at 100 wpm, typing at 40 wpm and knowledge of computers.
- Junior Judicial Assistant: a degree and computer typing of at least 40 wpm.
- Process Server: 10th pass (or Higher Secondary) with a light motor vehicle (LMV) driving licence and 2 years of unblemished driving experience.
- Peon/Orderly/Dak Peon: 10th pass from a recognised board.
You must meet the qualification by 4 November 2026 (page 7). No experience is needed for any post except the driving experience for Process Server.
DSSSB exam tiers for Senior PA, PA, Junior Judicial Assistant, Process Server and Peon
MCQ means a multiple-choice question test. Each MCQ is worth 1 mark, and 0.25 mark is cut for every wrong answer. To clear the MCQ and the descriptive test, UR and EWS candidates need 50%. OBC (Delhi), SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen need 45% (page 13).
| Post | Tier I (MCQ) | Next stages | What decides the final merit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Senior PA and PA | 90 questions, 90 marks, 90 minutes | Descriptive English test (75 marks), shorthand and typing skill test, interview (10 marks) | Descriptive test + interview |
| Junior Judicial Assistant | 120 questions, 120 marks, 120 minutes | Descriptive English test (100 marks), typing test, interview (15 marks) | Descriptive test + interview |
| Process Server | 100 questions, 100 marks, 120 minutes | Driving test in real traffic, interview (15 marks) | MCQ + interview |
| Peon/Orderly/Dak Peon | 100 questions, 100 marks, 120 minutes | Interview (15 marks) | MCQ + interview |
For the three assistant posts, the MCQ only shortlists. Your MCQ score does not count in the final merit, and the skill test is pass or fail (pages 9 to 11). The MCQ for these posts is in English only. It has General English and Comprehension (50 of 90, or 60 of 120 for Junior Judicial Assistant), general knowledge and general intelligence.
The descriptive test is also in English. For Senior PA and PA it has an essay of 250 words (30 marks), grammar (25 marks) and a 20-word translation (20 marks). For Junior Judicial Assistant it has a 300-word essay (50 marks), grammar (30 marks) and a 25-word translation (20 marks).
For Process Server and Peon, the MCQ paper has 25 questions each in English, Hindi, general knowledge and arithmetic. It is set in both English and Hindi, apart from the two language sections (pages 11 and 12). Candidates with disabilities get 160 minutes instead of 120.
Shorthand test for Delhi court PAs: 22 or 20 mistakes allowed
Pages 9 and 10 give the shortlisting limits and the shorthand rules:
- Up to 25 times the vacancies move from the MCQ to the descriptive test. Up to 10 times the vacancies then go on to the skill test.
- Senior Personal Assistant: a 550-word passage is dictated in 5 minutes. You get 40 minutes to type it out on a computer. Up to 22 mistakes (4%) are allowed.
- Personal Assistant: a 500-word passage in 5 minutes, 40 minutes to transcribe, and up to 20 mistakes.
- You get two chances at the dictation, and the better one counts.
- The skill test lists for Senior PA and PA are made separately, even though both posts share one MCQ.
Post preference goes in at the Delhi District Courts interview
The Delhi District Courts take your preference of posts and departments at the interview (page 13). If you give no preference, the courts allot a post at their discretion. Once you give your preference, it cannot be changed.
The interview is held by the Delhi District Courts at Tis Hazari, or by the office of the Principal District & Sessions Judge (HQs) for Process Server and Peon. The courts also prepare the final merit list. There are no minimum marks in the interview.
If two candidates tie, the older one ranks higher. If they share a date of birth, the first name in alphabetical order ranks higher (page 14).
Rs 100 SBI e-pay fee for the 641 court posts and the exempt groups
The fee is Rs 100, paid only through SBI e-pay. It is not refunded. Women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates pay nothing (page 8). The exemption does not cover ex-servicemen already in a regular civil job gained through their quota. This applies to jobs under the central or Delhi government, or their autonomous or local bodies.
Registering on OARS at dsssbonline.nic.in
- Register once on the DSSSB online portal, OARS, at dsssbonline.nic.in. If you already have an OARS registration, use it. A second registration gets all of them rejected (page 18).
- For a new registration, use an e-mail ID and mobile number not already on OARS. Enter only the numbers of your Class 10 roll number. Your name, gender and father’s name cannot be edited later (page 22).
- Give your Aadhaar number, or upload a scanned photo ID as a JPG of 15 KB to 60 KB.
- Upload a recent colour photo with a plain white or off-white background, full face and eyes open (page 18).
- Fill the form for Advt 04/2026 and pay the fee. After you submit, nothing can be corrected, not even your category (page 8).
Page 15 says you should already hold your category certificate when you fill the form. DSSSB asks for copies of your documents later, as an online e-dossier, if you are shortlisted. If you miss the e-dossier deadline, your candidature is dropped (page 18).
On exam day, the dress code is light half-sleeve clothes without big buttons, and slippers or low-heeled sandals. Shoes are not allowed (page 19). Exam centres may be in Delhi/NCR or other states.
Exam dates and monthly salary: not in the DSSSB court notice
- Exam dates: DSSSB says they will be announced on the DSSSB and Delhi District Courts websites (page 2).
- Monthly pay in rupees: the notice gives the Pay Level and the old scale, not a salary figure, so we have not estimated one.
- The final vacancy count: the courts may raise or cut it (page 14).
Another court job for degree holders who type well is the Supreme Court Junior Court Assistant 2026 recruitment. For 10th pass candidates, DSSSB has also advertised 25 Sweeper and Chowkidar posts in the Delhi District Courts (Advt 05/2026), with the form open from 13 October to 11 November 2026.
