The ESIC Joka Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 notice is a walk-in interview drive at ESI-PGIMSR, the ESIC Medical College and Hospital at Joka, Kolkata. It is ESIC Advertisement No. 09 of 2026. There is no online form. Doctors with an MD, MS or DNB in the subject report in person. Non-clinical departments come on 3 November 2026. Clinical and super specialty departments come on 4 November 2026. Reporting runs from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on each day. The two vacancy tables add up to 85 posts (17 + 68). The post is on contract for one year at first, and can run up to three years in all. The consolidated remuneration for clinical and non-clinical posts is Rs 1,50,294.

Notice used for this page: ESIC Advertisement No. 09 of 2026 from the Dean (in charge), ESI-PGIMSR and ESIC Medical College, Joka. It is a 7-page PDF with the application form (Annexure I) and a verification slip (Annexure II), digitally signed on 6 October 2026. ESIC listed the advertisement on its recruitment page on 7 October 2026. On 9 October 2026 that page still showed no corrigendum or change of interview date for Advertisement No. 09 of 2026, and the PDF was unchanged.

Post-PG bond, NOC and the three-year residency cap at ESIC Joka

For clinical and non-clinical departments, you need an MD, MS or DNB in the same subject from an MCI or NMC recognised institution. Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology also accept an M.Sc. with a Ph.D. in Medical Anatomy, Medical Biochemistry or Medical Physiology. For Paediatric Surgery, the notice accepts a DM, MCh or DNB in the subject, or an MD, MS or DNB in the broad specialty.

The registration and bond lines below sit in the clinical and non-clinical row of the qualification table. The notice does not repeat them for Paediatric Surgery.

You must be registered with the MCI, NMC or a State Medical Council. Two more rules apply:

  • Bond: the notice says “Candidates on bond are not eligible.” If you have finished your compulsory bond service, bring a bond clearance certificate from the appointing authority.
  • Three-year cap: the notice says candidates who have completed 3 years as a Senior Resident in a government institution need not apply. A Senior Resident now working in a government institution can apply with an NOC (no objection certificate) from that institute. Your total residency must still stay within 3 years.

Age on the day of the Joka walk-in: 45, or 50 for three subjects

Age, experience and every other condition are judged on the date of the interview for your department. So the cut-off is 3 November 2026 for non-clinical subjects and 4 November 2026 for clinical ones.

  • Broad specialties: up to 45 years.
  • Anatomy, Biochemistry and Physiology: up to 50 years.

The notice says age relaxation follows Central Government rules. It does not print the number of years for each category. It also gives no age limit for the 4 Paediatric Surgery (super specialty) posts.

Rs 1,50,294 consolidated pay, and the Rs 32,000 security deposit

A Senior Resident in a clinical or non-clinical department gets a consolidated remuneration of Rs 1,50,294. The pay table does not cover the Paediatric Surgery (super specialty) posts, so their pay is not stated. On top of this, the notice allows transport allowance and DA (dearness allowance) on that transport allowance, as per rules. The consolidated amount is revised when the Government of India revises DA and ESIC headquarters adopts it.

Two conditions affect your pay:

  • Non-medical candidates: for a non-medical candidate, the Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) is cut from the consolidated amount. The notice does not say who counts as non-medical. The notice does not give that amount.
  • Housing: quarters are given only if available. If you get one, no HRA (house rent allowance) is paid.

At joining, you deposit Rs 32,000 as security by demand draft. You get it back only after you complete the engagement and show a no-dues certificate. If you end the contract early yourself, the deposit is not refunded. Private practice of any kind is not allowed. We have not estimated take-home pay, because the notice does not give the transport allowance rate or the deductions.

Rs 500 fee to ESI Fund Account No.1, waived for SC, ST, PWD, women and ex-servicemen

  • SC, ST, PWD, women and ex-servicemen: no fee.
  • All other candidates: Rs 500.

Pay by demand draft (DD) only, in favour of “ESI Fund Account No.1”, drawn on any scheduled bank and payable at Kolkata. The DD must be dated after the advertisement was issued. Hand it in with your application form at the interview. The fee is not refunded.

Reaching ESIC Medical College Joka by 10:30 AM

Report between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM at the Academic Block, 2nd Floor, ESI-PGIMSR and ESIC Medical College, Joka, on Diamond Harbour Road, Kolkata 700104. The notice says candidates who report after 10:30 AM will not be considered. No travel allowance is paid.

Bring these on the day:

  1. The application form (Annexure I) and the verification slip (Annexure II), both printed in the PDF.
  2. All original documents and one set of self-attested copies.
  3. NMC or State Medical Council registration.
  4. Educational certificates and mark sheets from Class 10 onwards, and the Class 10 certificate or admit card as proof of age.
  5. Experience certificate, if any.
  6. SC, ST, OBC or EWS certificate in the latest Government of India format, if you claim a category.
  7. Bond clearance certificate.
  8. An NOC from your institute, if you now work there as a Senior Resident. Page 1 asks for it, and the verification slip has a line for it.
  9. Two recent passport size photographs.
  10. The Rs 500 demand draft, unless you are exempt.

If more than 10 candidates per post turn up, the college may hold a multiple-choice screening test in the subject first. Its marks are not used in the final selection. The interview alone decides who is selected. The selection panel may stay valid for three months from the result.

Annexure I for ESIC Joka: hand it in at the interview or send it to the Dean first?

The notice gives two different instructions for the form. Note-3 on page 5 says to submit the application form at the time of the interview. The note under the form on page 6 says the application must reach the Dean’s office “within the stipulated period”, but the advertisement sets no such period.

To confirm, call the college on (033) 2950 0731 or write to deanpgi-joka.wb@esic.nic.in before 3 November 2026. Ask whether the form must reach the Dean’s office before the interview day. In any case, carry the filled form and every document to the interview.

Bond papers, NOC and DD: a Joka checklist for senior residents

  1. Check your degree, registration and bond status, and get an NOC if you are a serving Senior Resident.
  2. Count your age on the interview date for your department.
  3. Get the DD issued, fill in Annexure I and Annexure II, and plan to reach Joka by 9:30 AM.

The Dean may also cancel any post or withdraw an offer without giving reasons.

ESIC’s recruitment page lists two other Joka walk-in notices, both for teaching faculty. No. 07 of 2026 is for super specialty departments, and No. 08 of 2026 is for teaching faculty. The page lists interview dates of 13 October 2026 for No. 07 and 15 October 2026 for No. 08. For more posts like this, see healthcare jobs, West Bengal government jobs and jobs for postgraduates.
